Thinking back to the draft...

I could be wrong but given that Tennessee moved ahead of us to take DGB there s a good possibility we were eyeing him as well. I wonder if him going at 40 had any bearing on us jumping up to 41 to get Funchess.  So honestly I suspect he could easily be a Panther. Let's see who ends up being better between Funchess and DGB. I hope they are both great honestly.

I'll reserve judgment for a rookie on a team that's downtrodden right now. Panthers fans know more than anyone else when you get that feeling that winning is insurmountable, it's kind of a demotivator, and it plays into your psyche on gameday. A more hardened vet might've caught that one.

....are we seriosly going to crucify a high 2nd round pick rookie for making a rookie mistake?

Oh wait, it's the huddle..where half of you you were already crucifying Devin Funchess, who was...a high second round pick, earlier this year for playing soft...lol

Seriously though...we didn't dodge anything with DGB...he'll learn from his mistakes, like most rookies do.

Lack of effort is not a rookie mistake.

Running the wrong route is a rookie mistake. Not trying is an attitude issue.

Lack of effort is not a rookie mistake? Right...I remember a lot of plays where a certain Rookie Wide out last year showed lack of effort to fight for the ball.

These are mental errors, whether they are attitude or whatever, they can be adjusted.

So you know for a fact it's an attitude issue? I mean who knows, DGB might have thought that ball was going out of bounds and coleman never had a shot at it? From his angle of course.. he could have thought that.

Honestly the placement could have been better. Why does the blame all fall on the Rookie WR but the Rookie QB didn't place the ball in a better spot and give him a better chance to get that ball.

Truth be told, he should have just thrown it away. Coverage was too good but again..rookies. lol.

I'm making a judgment, same as you are, but also basing it on what I've read about him previously.

I will agree Mariota should have thrown it away. That's a rookie mistake.

You see, this is where I don't believe i should be that simple. KB got plenty of bad articles about him, his work ethic, how he showed up out of shape for mini camp, questioning his effort and all that. Both in his rookie season and this season before he went down..I can't make a Judgement call on just media articles.

I'll just give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Again...not on our team and not really our problem when you think about it though. But this. "Oh man we sure dodged a bullet by not being able to draft this guy" notion is preposterous.
