This Has Been A Terrible NFL Season

4. The Carolina Panthers are 9-0. I’m less mad about the Bengals being 8-1 than I am about the Panthers being 9-0 because the Bengals actually have a quarterback who can throw the ball on a dime. (Until there’s a modicum of pressure. Then he’s Blaine Gabbert.) The Panthers, to be honest, do not. Cam Newton has a worse completion percentage than Nick Foles, Jameis Winston and Colin Kaepernick. He’s not a good passer at all. He brings so many things to the table and improves his football team, but it’s not because of his arm.

Look, Carolina is a fine football team. They might be a good football team. There’s the slightest chance they may a very good football team. But this is not a 9-0 team. Since 1990, 19 teams have started 9-0 and if you’re telling me the Panthers are one of the best 20 teams of the past quarter-century I’m laughing in your face, heartily, while still appreciating Cam Newton’s dance moves because I think we all wish we could move like that, yes, even you, lady who complained about it. You know you do.

So this is NOT a 9-0 team.....except for the fact that we ARE a 9-0 team.

This hack should never be allowed to write again...most pathetic example of crap that I have ever read.

It's so painfully obvious when they try to write articles when they haven't actually watched the games.  Ironic that this is coming right after Cam goes 21/26 for an 80.8% completion rate vs. the Titans.  The next NFL game when Dalton completes 80+% of his passes will be his first ever.  Cam's career best single game completion rate is 88.24%.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
