Start Funchess over Philly?

I know its likely not going to happen, but man Funchess coming into his own would really help this offense. Funchess was our first wide receiver not named Ginn or Kelvin to have 100 yards receiving in a game in over 2 years

I know it's risky but I like this idea. The only reasons for not already doing so would be either Funch's blocking or playbook knowledge, as he has missed on some routes earlier in the season.

Nevertheless, he's been getting better and better, has much greater upside, and is the better WR right now compared to Philly.

to be honest im not a fan of Philly at all, I would like to move on from this experiment in the offseason.

Is there even gonna be room for Philly next season? Maybe he takes over Cotchery role.

makes sense , we need a big body/ possession guy to compliment a deep threat in ginn . funch is also heating up im with it for starting him over philly

My problem with Philly.. is that he disappears. Devin has never had that problem. If he has the playbook I'd be all for it. Don't need interceptions because of miscommunication in the playoffs.

Rather keep Cotchery over Philly. Cotchery has been good this year and reliable when called upon.

I'm hoping Tyler Boyd is sitting there still at the end of the 1st (where I hope we're drafting), he'd be an excellent slot guy. A group of Benjamin, Funchess, Boyd, Ginn and Cotchery would be nice next season. Corey Coleman is another intriguing prospect, as the guy can flat out fly but I'm not sold on his route running (coming from Baylor he hasn't been asked to run many routes) which is big to Gettleman. 

There are a few free agents like Travis Benjamin and Jermaine Kearse available this offseason. However if Gettleman wants to continue to build a WR group out of higher draft picks to keep costs down (as WR's on the open market don't come cheap) im all for it.

I'd make it a game time decision. The two players are so remarkably different, it would be better if our opponent didn't know which to game plan for.

Philly will never in his life have the hands Cotchery possesses.

I would love Travis Benjamin here, he is a little guy but he can fly. he had almost 1000 yards on an awful browns team.

Funchess is really coming into his own.  I am starting to like him A LOT!!!  I think that the combo of KB and Funchess will be freaking deadly to opposing DB's next season.

With Ginn in the slot running up the seam, deep...and Greg working the middle.

I see nothing wrong with Philly as the #4 WR.  Philly is sneaky fast, and for the most part this year, has had good hands.  Plus he's making the salary of an UDFA on his rookie contract.  He has 4 TD's this season, and has made some crucial catches.  He definitely is not starter level in the NFL, but he's not bad either.  The Panthers have employed much, much worse on our WR depth chart over the last 10 years.  

We have the #1 scoring offense in the NFL.  Hard to find too much fault with anyone on the offense.

A WR corp going into next year of KB, Funchess, Ginn, Philly, and Cotchery/FA is way better than what long-term fans have become accustomed to.  Throw in Olsen, Dickson, Stewart, a solid O-Line, and the reigning MVP and it's an offense that will be reckoned with.
