Panthers give futures contracts to: WR Cobi Hamilton, G Tyler Larsen, C Matt Masifilo, DE Larry Webster, DT Eric Crume & CB Travell Dixon.

Future contracts essentially allow teams to sign players for the 2016 season even though it has not begun yet. Only players who are not on an NFL team's 53-man active roster at the conclusion of the regular season are eligible for these contracts.

It means they don't actually become members of the team until the next league year.

WR Cobi Hamilton

6-2, 197, Age 25, Arkansas : 6th Round Pick for the Bengals in 2013, has also spent time with the Eagles and Dolphins practice squads

C Matt Masifilo

6-3, 280, Age 26, Stanford; Undrafted free agent for the Bucs in 2012, stuck there till mid 2014; tried out on DL but didn't work out

C-G Tyler Larsen

6-3, 315, Age 24, Utah; Undrafted by Dolphins in 2014; has been to camp with Dolphins and Redskins but hasn't made a squad

DT Eric Crume

6-2. 297, Age 22, Syracuse; Undrafted by Jaguars in 2015; spent some time on the Packers practice squad

DE Larry Webster III

6-7, 262, Age 25, Bloomsburg (where?); Fourth Round Pick of the Lions in 2014; wound up on their practice squad ; dad Larry Webster Jr played ten years as a DT in the NFL and won a Super Bowl with the Ravens.

CB Travell Dixon

6-0, 200, Age 24, Washington; Undrafted pickup by Raiders in 2015; didn't even make it to camp; was waived less than a month after he was signed when the Raiders picked up former Panthers prospect LB Horace Miller

I don't think they can while we are still in the playoffs but after that certainly.
