"5. Overlooked a bit in this season was the fact that Gano set the Panthers’ season scoring record with 146 points. He made 30 of his 36 field-goal attempts, and four of the misses were blocked."

I had overlooked this. I knew that he was pretty darned good, but wow! He should have been probowler #11.

I knew he'd been blocked a lot, but wow!  Talk about a great find!  We just need to fix this kick blocking thing...yesterday!

This is a great season recap.  I'd find it hard to argue with any of Scott Fowler's choices, or the order in which he has ranked them.

Below I've noted a few other memorable / favorite plays from this season.

What one's would you all add?

Jerricho Cotchery's catch against Seattle (I think it was the final drive) when he literally was ripping the ball out of the defender's hands to hold on to the catch.  (haven't found a video...)

Greg Olsen's awesome 1 handed catch against the Titans  http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25375606/watch-greg-olsen-needs-just-one-hand-to-snag-cam-newtons-laser

Cam's run in the loss against Atlanta when he powered through the entire Atlanta defense.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0gDD0YYsb8

Mike Tolbert's "human bowling ball" run when he too broke a ton of tackles.  (This clip is against Eagles, but I think he had another one too...)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hmdiobSzeo

Funchess' 1st TD catch against GB, which began to show us the type of player we'd hoped he could be:  http://www.panthers.com/media-vault/videos/Devin-Funchess-14-yard-TD-catch/8e7406e7-b677-41dc-abd3-5292ea975fad

Cam's incredible TD throw to Dickson against Atlanta when he curved the ball around several players  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_no5YnIrAb4

And speaking of Dickson - his great fumble "recovery" in the 1st game against the Bucs when he caught the ball the spurted out of Stew's hands and ran it for a TD:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hAoX_3VCKA

Trai Turner Pancakes  JJ Watt:  http://thebiglead.com/2015/09/22/trai-turner-pancaked-jj-watt-on-cam-newton-to-ted-ginn-jr-touchdown-pass/

I thought of Tolbert's run (Gawd that was cool) as a contender. And even though Trai slamming JJ to the turf didn't really affect the outcome of the game, it has to be runner up for the "How Bad-Ass Was That" award (which I just invented) behind "THE FLIP".

There was no game where the Panthers were happier to have Gano than against Indianapolis on a wild Monday night in November when Carolina became the first NFL team to come back from an overtime deficit to win (something NFL rules had made impossible for decades).

wait is this true?

    • I’ve said it in the past that this team has found brief runs of success this season off of a player or few that decides to turn God mode on for the day. Yesterday Chuba looked like the stud many forgot he was last season. Mike Jack ball hawked a pick 6 to the house? WTF? Derrick m-fin Brown.  Does anyone remember the last time a Panthers lineman closed out a big game? That play was classic Jenkins.  Coker is a stud (we are VERY fortunate to have him). Tet is a stud. Brown is a stud. Rico is a stud. Ickey is a stud. The O line continues to play much better than they rightfully should be. The depth players by and large have been refreshingly competent.  If they would have just played Panthers brand football all season they would probably have 9 wins but it is what it is. I think Bryce is far more comfortable in the game manager role, which for now is ‘ok’… for now. A team that can run the ball at will and has an opportunistic defense is a tough out for anybody, home or away.
    • True. But that elevation gain is no joke on the lungs.
    • Take away Bryce's two 4th and short passes and the screen to Chuba and what are you left with on fhe passing game? See how it goes when you selectively eliminate the three best plays? We caught lightning in a bottle yesterday on both sides of the ball. The D was overall not good but had three great plays forcing turnovers taking one back for a TD. The offensive passing game overall was not good but had three big plays resulting in TDs.
