Jaime and Luis began to be mini-celebrities. An American woman asked Jaime if he needed blood-pressure medicine during games. His emails from South America and Mexico were through the roof. A contingent of Mexican fans were flying in for games, and Hector Lerma Gonzalez, who regularly made the trip, said, "I have a lot of friends that due to their broadcasting style have ... left more traditional teams like the Cowboys to become Panthers fans."

very cool

Love those guys. I will probably turn on their broadcast this sunday while I'm watching the game. Helps when you understand the color commentary between the spectacular plays lol.

I don't understand spanish but I wonder how is the rest of their broadcast outside of the highlights we have seen.  Are they interesting and knowledgeable in general?

That article was a great read on two guys who passion is finding a niche with huge ramification over time and maybe without their not even realizing it.

The Hispanic population is the fastest growing demographic in the US and Charlotte is the fastest growing city of this demographic among the top 30 population centers in the US.

Over time this has the potential for huge rating and revenue for all concerned and these guys are in there first............good for them and all our Hispanic friends of the Panthers........

Yes. And very fun as well. It's there just as knowledgeable about the Panthers as the english-speaking media. But they're more passionate on spectacular plays. And the Latin feel of the broadcast is very unique at least to me.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
