2015 Philly Brown is our 2012 Doug Balwdin

Both Brown and Baldwin are mid sized receivers who don't particularly excel at anything, but are decent at everything.

Both undrafted free agents as rookies. Both come from legit college football programs. Both had unspectacular 40 times in the combine (thus being undrafted)

Similar stats in their first years (aside from Philly not getting as many snaps)

I feel like Philly should really take a look at Baldwin's game as a model for his career. In a couple of years he has all the ability in the world to get near 800-900 receiving yards.

So now that ive read what their stats are, this is a really good idea to me. I didnt realize Baldwin was Phillys size. I dont know why but Philly still looks so skinny to me.

I really hope we can see more Philly in the slot. I feel like he played well out of there when given the chance.

I love Baldwin's game. Baldwin is a hands catcher who is able to absorb hits and make people miss. Baldwin has the strength to fight off defenders and out runs guys with the ball in his hands. Philly is a straight line speed kinda guy, who doesn't trust his hands (and never will). Philly isn't a threat to go anywhere after catch and doesn't have the ability to make people miss.

I'd love to go and get us a Baldwin type receiver in this years draft though! A guy like Sterling Shepard would be a nice pick up and I'd compare him to Baldwin. I just want to see us surround Cam with some guys that have the ability to make people miss, Braxton Miller has that ability as well.

Philly's catching passes from Cam. baldwin's catching passes from Gary Coleman. It's the same physics that makes mediocre girls look hot when they're hanging out with their one fat friend.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
