Are you a real Carolina fan, or a 2016 Carolina fan?

That was just the question asked to me by a co-worker just now.

I guess he hadn't ever noticed the Growl Towel hanging up on my desk until today and he said, "oh, I didn't know you're a Carolina fan.  But are you a real Carolina fan or a 2016 Carolina fan?"

Found it pretty funny, but told him the story about why I'm a fan and he laughed and said, "yep, I guess a real Carolina fan"

My dad took me to the HOF the year before the Panthers first season, I was a kid at the time (about 8) and loved the logo and colors, so he bought me a mini helmet and I followed the team that first year the best an 9 year old could do without today's internet abilities.

Then going into the second season we drafted my all time favorite player (from Michigan and grew up a die hard Michigan football fan) in Biakabutuka with the first round pick, and I was hooked ever since.

I even showed him the sticker on the mini-helmet on my desk that has a 1995 copyright sticker on it, been around since the beginning!!

Keep Pounding!!!!  Can't wait for Sunday!!!!

I had such high hopes for Randy Fasani...

Love how fitting it is in our sig, that a SB win would put us over .500.

Usually it's bandwagon fans who even ask that in the first place....trying to hide their own bandwagon hopping selves.

Seattle fan was saying something like that to me but the lad couldn't identify Shaun Alexander so yea....we all know what's what.

Post count doesn't mean that much .. Some of us have followed back in the Kevin Greene and Julius Pepper years but only became a part of the huddle recently.  I stumbled across the site and rarely even look at anything else.

But then again 14k post .. means you have a lot more time on your hands than some also.

Threw a bomb to one of the best receivers in Panther history.

    • No PFF grades up yet but the all-22 is up. Just watched the first passing play (Q1 6:45) from 3rd & 2 on the CAR 37 where Bryce scrambled for the first. Dowdle whiffed going low on the blitzing Oluokun, which forced Bryce to scramble. If not for that, that ball was going to XL on a corner route that he'd have been open. Concerning though that Bryce looked like he was staring the route down (which he definitely did on the first INT of the day). This doesn't absolve Bryce as he made several flat out bad plays throughout the game. Also rather damning is that of the 40 drop backs, according to the filters there was pressure on 16 vs. 24 w/o pressure... though I'm questioning the validity of the early filters because the very first play I mentioned is flagged as "no pressure" when there's very clearly pressure. The first INT was a bad play by Bryce. He thought Murray had started dropping deep to cover Brycen Tremayne, but Murray read Bryce's eyes the whole time which stayed on XL. Murray "broke the rule" here and made a play, but he also wouldn't have made that play had Bryce not been staring XL down for most of the route.   Might not get an all-22 review post up until later in the week. I've got a conference next week that I'm prepping for and the family is still reeling from one of our pets passing over the weekend.
    • We're just bad. Canales is not a good coach. Morgan is not a good GM. Young is not a good quarterback.  We haven't drafted well in a long time. All this stuff adds up. And now we're in a situation where no matter who we hire they're going to be starting at a negative because they're going to have to draft good talent and fill the entire team up.  I don't know guys I think we could be bad for a long time.
    • So true.  I would love to have Jim, Dan, or Sean here.  So sick of stinking it up for the first 8 games and then fixing things just to make sure we dont have a top draft pick so we have to trade the farm if we want a top pick.
