Panthers sign OT Donald Hawkins

Quote

The Panthers signed offensive tackle Donald Hawkins, who spent the entire 2014 season on the Dallas Cowboys' 53-man roster, to a future contract today. Hawkins appeared in one game for the Cowboys as a rookie, then spent last season on the Miami and San Francisco practice squads.

The Panthers previously signed wide receiver Cobi Hamilton, defensive end Larry Webster, guards David Yankey and Tyler Larsen, center Matt Masifilo, defensive tackle Eric Crume and cornerback Travell Dixon.

Super B...wait...

I saw it yesterday. Super bowl bound and still not satisfied, and it trying to get better.

If you're a player on this team, or a fan, you have to love this.

We all have been thinking dynasty for awhile now, but it's seriously looking like that may actually come to fruition!

Just now, ItsNotGonnaBeAlright said:

10 bucks says Gettleman is more concerned with scouting reports for the draft and free agents next season than he is with the Super Bowl right now.

Totally agree. There is nothing he can do to affect the SB roster so I bet his eyes are completely the horizon.

Not to steal the thunder from our most recent OL signing, but I totally forgot that DG snagged Yankey.  I remember being a huge Yankey fan when he was coming out of Stanford. Not that we need an OG, but his versatility is flexible enough to step in at OT too.  Amazing depth on this line.

God Bless you DG.

    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
    • I thought tanking wasn't actually a thing and we were firmly against it though?
