Every team in the league has strengths and weaknesses, including the Broncos.  If you think anybody out there has a roster full of all pros, you have no idea what you're talking about.

They built and coached a team that got through the season and the playoffs with only a single loss but came up short in the Super Bowl.  That's a successful season.

Next year, they'll continue building same as they've done before, and the future on that front looks very bright.

 

I agree with you on the future looking bright with the way the team's being built, but it's not a successful season unless you're team brings home the Lombardi.

personnel didn't lose this game. we had the guys we needed to win but we didn't because the moment was too big for us. we crumbled. for whatever reason we got punched early on and it stunned us and we couldn't regroup.

next year we come back better and finish what we started.

Was it the players or was it the strategy? All year long we've dominated at OL positions. Our option throws teams off. Tonight the OL was consistently confused with protections. Would it have been nice to have guys in there with better hands on a couple occasions? Yeah. But we're getting KB back. I don't see DG doing a lot in adding pass catchers. 

I don't know if it was a talent disparity or a scheme disparity but it doesn't make sense that Remmers and Oher play great all year and then suck in this game bc of talent. It makes more sense that it was scheme.

You could make the argument that with a true #1 out there like KB then your receivers beat the man to man coverage more when they are bringing pressure. 

 

But DG is going to try to keep key pieces...Star, Norman, KK and draft to fill holes the same way he did with Funchess, Shaq and the rest of the young guys who continue to play well for us.

I mean, Remmers got worked last night but Von Miller and Ware have been great all season and have done that to some solid tackles. We would've needed Orlando Pace back there to keep Miller at bay all game, it's just not feasible, he'll get his unless he's going up against an all time great OT. 

 

As for WR, we'd have been fine all season if KB was there. Nothing DG could do about that ACL tear.

I do love the knee jerk reactions!  Everyone is absolutely in their fan right to be pissy, angry, salty, and incredibly unhappy about the way the game turned out.

On the flip side of things, no one was going to beat Denver last night.  There wasn't a team in the NFL who could.  Sorry to break that to all the haters out there.

Now there was some serious hubris in the game planning, and not doing something to combat the "green dog" blitzers (which I just learned about today).  The good news is that we have the pieces in place to be competitive for a long time.  We have to keep pounding, keep getting better, and to keep the faith (both the team and the fans).

Broncs had some key injuries when they got crushed in the Superbowl, including Miller.  However, they did make key moves during the offseason to improve their team.  Kudos to Elway and the organization for going all in. 

Probably my first post defending DG but he isn't to blame for the Super Bowl.  There's a lot of that to go around ... including the coaching staff.  However, DG isn't the demigod of general managers either.  He hasn't adequately filled some glaring weaknesses and rolled-the-dice a few times with critical positions.  'Answer is already on the roster' wasn't that long ago.

Despite the stinging loss, it's Monday and the start of a new season.  Hurney's legacy of bad contracts has been purged from the system and this team was one win from a world championship.  Time for DG to fill in the missing pieces and get it done.

Yea, I don't get the OL hate.   "Remmers is pure trash, even though he proved solid against Houston, Arizona, Seattle etc etc." I hope Williams can be an upgrade here but calling the guy pure garbage for one game (one and a half game?) of poor play isn't quite accurate.

Remmers struggles against a speed rush, sure. That isn't ground breaking or unexpected. Him getting beat by Von Miller was expected and should have been schemed for. Also, some of the pressure from Ware came when back up RBs were getting tangled in Oher's feet for no reason at all, or #2 TEs were matched up against him 1 on 1.

Next time we have two weeks to prepare for a team, someone please give game tape to Shula so his scheme isn't ruined when Elite pass rushers are good at rushing the passer.

There is always something to learn if you're doing your job correctly.  

It is no coincidence that our suspected areas of weakness became our actual weaknesses on the sport's biggest stage. Everyone is going to have to dig a little deeper and up there game, and that includes G-man. In a way, that is especially G-man depending on one's perspective.
