Benjamin, Olsen, Funchess, Ginn and Brown..

thats all we need..

i would be 100 fine with this. and maybe 1 more wideout for depth. these guys are going to be incredible together this coming year. i don't think we'll have a 1000 yard receiver, but that's a whole lot for a defense to account for. KB is legitimately going to be drawing double teams and you know that this year teams were constantly trying to figure out how to take olsen out, and with funchess coming into his own as a legit threat...i mean you've got to or three guys right there who could be drawing double teams regularly and then you've got the shifty/speedy/downfield threats that philly and.or ginn bring? plus whatever RB we have on the field? plus the threat that cam brings (and which you need have a spy on)?

defenses are going to be getting spread thin.

i really think that if we did nothing to this receiving/TE corps we would still be in incredible shape. if someone falls into our lap this year, fine, but i think the focus on improving the team should be in beefing up the OL a little, addressing DE and the secondary. money and draft picks shouldn't be spent on a position group that is so solid, imo. what we've got is going to be a nightmare for defenses.

Personally I'm excited to see what our receivers look like next year with KB back and other guys bumping down the pecking order thus getting easier matchups (assuming they stay healthy).  KB not only makes the unit better by just being there and raising the average but he lets guys like Ginn and Brown match up against different defenders and thus get more winnable matchups while Olsen and KB draw the worst of the coverage guys.

I don't expect to go through the offseason without signing *any* WR talent but I'd be shocked if what was added was anything more than a depth piece or a roleplayer who could complete near the bottom of the order.

I would say theres a better chance we draft a TE since we have absolutely nobody on the roster who can do anywhere near what Greg does.  Can you imagine the impact to the entire offense if he went down?  It would be more devastating than losing anyone other than Cam because we have no depth whatsoever behind him.

I've been saying we need another good playmaking tight end on the opposite side of Olsen. That would really make it tough on defenses. I remember having Olsen and Shockey. Defenses couldn't stop both. Have 2 big pass catching tight ends, KB, Funch, Ginn and Philly. That's pretty sick

So, I haven't dug too deep into it yet, but if the top TE prospect is available at 30 and he's the BPA on our board, would anyone think that DG wouldn't pull the trigger? I think the only BPA he wouldn't draft in round one is a QB or DT.

No one predicted a LB last year in round one. Upgrading the backup TE position in round one this year is an interesting idea if the chips fall that way.

I have no doubt Gettlemen will go defense round 1. Probably dline unless a really good DB falls. The draft will be defense heavy. We will bring in another TE either through free agency or late round in the draft

One thing I've learned from DG's drafts so far: he'll take the BPA according to his board and no one else's. He's not shoe-horning anyone in based on need. So it's going to be a long draft night waiting to see who falls to us.

Watch everyone freak when it's Scooby Wright that we take in the 1st or trade up to get him in the 2nd

Better yet, watch Dave take a QB in the first 3 rds and people really lose their poo! Getting a talent upgrade at back-up QB isn't a bad idea! Worst case is we trade him for a 1st RD pick in 3years. Cam is tough but all it takes is the right hit.

We don't need CJ or Alshon. I'd like for us to draft a speedy guy mid draft to possibly take Ginns place in the future. He needs to have hands, and the ability to run routes decently. I also wouldn't mind another TE to pair with Olsen.

I think we need to fill Philly's role more but I'm thinking Tyler Boyd would be a nice piece to this offense. Solid route runner with hands who will line up in the slot.

Agree about TE, if the defensive market gets too pricey for us Dwayne Allen would be a nice grab

I know everyone thinks we go pass rusher in the 1st but I think the better value may be WR once our pick comes up. Plus I'd prefer we address pass rush in FA. The WR FA market is always over priced. I like Marvin Jones, Jermaine Kearse and Travis Benjamin but watch those guys get PAID.

Everyone is forgetting about Stephen Hill. He was having a great off season before the ACL. He has had a lot of time to bond with KB.

I think we keep him as a 6th WR and use him as Minnesota uses Cordarrelle Patterson. Hill will be the speed we need to return Kickoffs, a kick returner for free and we dont need to use a draft pick on one.

Tall, speed, same hands as Ginn but 6 years younger.
