Would depend on the numbers.  He is 31, so I would assume DG would probably try to get him with a Suggs type deal, more than that, and we may regret it.

Not irrelevant, as some of the verbiage is probably transferring over.

Not sure exactly how he would fit with Coleman, but Weddle is a great player in SD, he could be a fantastic pick up here....where we actually have a good defensive plan and can rush the passer.

I feel like Nate Allen is a Gettleman type signing. Low risk 2 yr deal like Coleman. He played under McDermott in Philly his rookie year.

That would be my ideal. Kurt to SS and Weddle at FS would make our coverage from the safety position elite. Kurt has experience at SS and is strong enough to play the run. Weddle has said he only wants to go to a contender so with that and the Wilks/Rivera connection it's not crazy to think he would take $1M or so less to come here.

Gettleman does love to bring in guys from within the division, even if only to kick the tires (Harper, Decoud, Underwood). Wouldn't be surprised if he targeted Moore.

Going to be really disappointed if we can't make a run at Weddle...though, who knows how he feels about coming to NC. 

 

Mario Williams is a big name potentially, and one who probably could still be good here.  If the price is right, would love it.

Heard speculation a few weeks ago that Minnesota might cut Mike Wallace loose. I think we could use a 2nd vertical threat to complement Ginn, which would complement our physical first down guys like Olsen and Funchess, to go along with our no.1 in Benjamin.
