Very nice.

“It’s really hard, really, really hard,” Archie Manning told reporters in Mississippi on Wednesday. “I like Cam. I’m not going to blast Cam. As a parent you say, ‘I wish he’d have handled it a little different.’ But it hurts.”

Interesting.

That's a far cry from idiocy like, "stop pouting", "look at the immaturity", "man up", and "the Panthers need to stop treating him like a baby".

Myself, I would have rather he just not came out at all, but I can understand why he was upset, and simply leave it at that. It's an unfortunate situation all around, nobody wanted to see our team lose like that. But it happened. Now it's time to regroup from here, but instead the media just wants to drag this out as long as possible so they can sheepishly get more clicks for their websites.

    • I had hope as recently as this year that Bryce would fail so hard that Tepper just throws in the towel on dictating to the football people. But my meager sports prayers are not usually heard.
    • He is much more decisive with the ball. He also is less suited for extending plays than Bryce. But he also has a little better pocket presence, as well.  My prediction, assuming he starts, is that he will do a little better than Bryce has. I don't expect that to lead to a victory nor do I expect him to light the world on fire.
    • You said it!  But really, it comes down to fixing your organization and the team before diving in for that new QB. Even then, you've really only got about two seasons to do it before the GM and HC seats get too hot. It's a remarkably tough job and it keeps things interesting. Quality organizations keep the ball rolling, sometimes for as much as 10 years of competitiveness. And bad organizations can have an even longer shelf life of hell for their fans.
