Coples visiting, taking physical

Do teams usually talk ballpark contract before a physical or not? As in 'our offer is in this money range if the physical is passed'.....just curious.

Absolutely.

It's even possible that Gettleman and Coples agent negotiated the terms at the combine and we already have the contract written up and waiting to be signed pending the physical.

What's most likely is that ballpark figures were discussed and were close enough to merit a visit and physical from Coples. Pending positive results from the physical and his meeting with the coaches, Gettleman and Coples agent would hammer out the final details of a contract this afternoon/evening and he would be signed by tomorrow.

So it seems he had an altercation on the plane after a game with someone on the team. He was let go by the Jets twelve hours later. I'm sure D.G and R.R have all the information on that and obviously was a minor incident. Can't find any more on it. Little grabbing and pushing probably.

You assholes

i wanted us to bring in Coples before it was cool

Yes, I vouch I saw you and others mentioning him in the earliest offseason priorities threads.  Kudos for a great idea and thinking like our GM & Coaches do....

Here's hoping it becomes reality!

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
