I Don't Get The Celebration Here...

All sacks don't come from dominant line play off the ball.   They often are generated from a team playing good overall football on D.  Which essentially is what a "coverage sack" is.

We played good overall D last season.  We didn't have a dominant DL.

Oh I get it. If the Dline doesn't make the sack, and isn't "Dominant" it is a coverage sack. WHAT? I give up.

Meh. I'm a fan of the Carolina Panthers, not any one player. I know Gettleman has forgotton more about football today than I can pretend to know my whole life. If he thinks this was in the team's best interest, who am I to disagree?

Like the decision or not, fact of the matter is we've gone 34-13-1 over the past 3 years with 3 straight division titles - we've never had that kind of sustained success before Gettleman came on board. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh Jesus Christ you can't be serious. I'm not going to go turning this into a fuging race thread but weren't you the one that was hating on Luke or JJ Watt as DPOY because they were white? Saying they were the golden boy because of their skin color?

Because if that was you then it's 100% clear why you are so anti-Gettleman and pro-Norman in this situation.

At least proudiddy and tucker and the rest are making an attempt to have a valid discussion on the subject.

What? LOL I didn't even comment on the DPOY award

But now I see the angle that you come from.

I think it's the Haplo E guy that hates white people.

Yes. Quote me. Quote every time I've shown joy about Josh leaving. Please

 I fuging beg you.

I haven't changed my tune. At all. Those people are moving on. Good for them. Its cool they're looking at a possible comp pick. Hell I am too. That doesn't mean them, or myself, don't miss Josh. Its how the league works. You can be upset and angry while still focusing on the positives of what this move will bring. Wow!

Your other arguments are dumb or sortsighted: More people will be angry than accepting if Cam is traded suddenly. Team has had players cut before that they liked (Avant is a recent example, extremely well loved in the locker room.) And have coped well and would be better than a constant ongoing dramafest about will he or won't he play. As I've stated before a player who holds out often gets hurt or plays sub par when they don't participate in full TC and other Mini camps (Revis, Chancellor come to mind.), and the fact he was holding out is damn obvious by the fact that he Didn't Sign His Tender At fuging All And Asked For A Trade.

Theirs a difference between being happy which no one should be (but you already know Gettleman is always right) and celebrating like I specifically said.

Avant really? Avant was terrible, he was on the team not even a full season, Norman has been on the team 4 years and is one of our best players you seriously need to be out if your gore to compare the two. If any player speaks out about this terrible move the media, the DG stooges on here and maybe be even DG himself would light them up.

First he was gonna miss games, now he was gonna get injured, please tell me the lotto numbers since you can obviously see the future. Your bringing up false narratives again most players that don't sign there in tender in the middle of god damn April don't miss games and they sure damn don't get injured. Matter of fact players usually have there best seasons when they know they are on the brink of getting a new contract.

And outside of Persons how come no else has reported Norman requested a trade, not one.

That's a mouse hunt because it doesn't exist. I'm fine with him leaving, it severely hurts us but our staff will manage. Just sick of the bs about how this was Normans greed when you have no idea what he was or wasn't offered 10-12 mil per year isn't enough for that caliber corner.

Yet you make outlandish claims that this is somehow on Dave with no shred of proof whatsoever.  Pot, meet kettle.

Not sure how Norman was castrated, he just got out of a system that gives teams all the power and can sign whatever deal he wants now. Hopefully he gets paid big time, but I'm very glad we have a GM that doesn't feel everyone deserves a pay day. Now I'll eagerly await the Short extension and prepare for the draft. Also if you really think we will be scrambling for a replacement I don't know what to tell you. Gettleman and scramble dont belong in the same sentence together.

Watch out!  Here comes the G-man, and I love it!!!!

I apologize I was corrected by Bartin. Haplo E hates white people. I thought it was you. My mistake.

Haplo hates white people.  Gooby hates the front office.  We'll just make a quick mental note, and everything will be fine.

I didn't once say it's on g man. Just that it's not on Norman either. We now know he offered 11 mil to Norman. Norman is worth more than that. Everyone knows it, but to Dave it's not the right value going over that, which is fine. Norman will easily get 13 and won't surprise me a bit if he is the highest paid CB in the league within the next week.

I've stated on here before that sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few members on here who has been cursed with a memory that goes back further then last season.

This has been a huge mistake by DG, we just went from having a game breaker at every level of the defense, (Short/Ealy, Luke/Davis, Norman) to none in the secondary. there isnt anyone back there that opposing teams have to fear.  Now I like BB as much as the next guy and believe his production and contributions to the team were very underrated last year.  but he's not Norman.

The franchise tag is for 2 reasons, 1. Being that you tag a player till you can get a long term contract worked out. and 2. Is for the event that you cant get one worked out you still have him for another year.  Over my nearly 15 years of closely following football I've watched many Franchise tags and hard ball negotiations that followed. In some the player folds at the last minute, and others they work it out, and of course sometimes they dont. that happens tho.

As far as Norman not signing his tender to this point or going to OTA's?  That's very normal for Franchise tagged players to do that. he doesnt have to sign before a certain date and is under no contract obligations to show up to OTA's before he signs.  Why show up to extra practices if you dont have too? a lot of players already do not like OTA's especially considering they still have Training camp ahead of themselves. so this is a bunch to do about nothing and no reason to rescind the offer.

so my two main thoughts are 1. Are we a better team without norman? answer is easily no.  Did we rescind the offer because we couldnt afford him? all of our other major players contracts that are come up, are coming up next year, not this year. and we have the cap space for Norman now. So why not just leave the tag on him and make him play this year? he wont be happy but he'll still play. he's played for peanuts compared to what he should have been making for a few years now.

If Norman by some miracle resigns with the panthers I will sing DG's praises till the day I die, but seriously dont see how this move does anything but hurt the panthers going into next season, and that's why this is a terrible move
