I like Ogbah in the 1st. He may well be there at 30, and I think he's worth it talent wise, as well as being a good fit for the team. Shepard in the 2nd sounds like a winner.

Probably future proofing. I agree that we need a de more and hope we take one. But i wouldn't turn down a special player at any position except qb or kicker.

I don't think Apple will be on the board when we pick in round 1, though if more teams trade up above us for Paxton and/or Cook or Hackenburg... someone is going to have to fall.  Also, unless things really get shaken up, there is only a slim chance Sterling is there in round 2 at #62.

I think we'll go DE or possibly DT in round 1 unless there are none of the players we like left at those positions.  After round 1, DE quality drops hugely.  There still are a bunch of very solid DTs in later rounds as best I can tell.

If not DE/DT in round 1, I think we'll pick whatever player has fallen who is tops on our board. (Possibly Oline, CB or WR...)  Or we could possibly go after early round 2 players such as  Derrick Henry, Su'a Cravens, Sterling Shepard or Hunter Henry that may not still be on the board when we pick in round 2.... perhaps a slight "reach" but avoiding a trade up in the 2nd.

Here's what I hope we do:

1) DE

2) RB / WR / TE  (D Henry, S Shepard, H Henry) .... but these might require a trade up.  If we don't want to trade:  Safety Su'a Cravens - more likely to be there at our pick.

3) CB or S

4) CB or S  (If we've already covered both CB & S, then WR or RB)

5)  Oline

7) Whoever the heck G'man likes if he has kept this pick...

 

I know G'man loves hogmollies, and I know the possible injury concern re: Star.... but in my opinion, since we re-signed Love, DT is less a priority now given that we need to shore up CB. 

I want us to come out of this draft, if possible, with

• 1 DE
• 1 RB
• 1 CB
• 1 Safety
• 1 Oline

If we pick 6 players, I'd be fine with WR, TE, a DT or another DB for the final pick...

Of course I know that G'man will almost certainly follow BPA and not target positions.  I just hope that our positions of need line up with BPA!
