He wasn't very good last year even before he got hurt. Definitely don't want him as the 2nd starter, possibly as a 4th or 5th corner maybe.

I'm sure Gettleman knows this so I'm curious as to why we haven't done it yet- maybe waiting to see how the draft plays out?

My best guess is both DG and Peanut are waiting to see how his knee heals.

Would love to have him around another season.  He might not be able to play all that well coming off a torn ACL at his age... but what he'd bring to the locker room is invaluable.  He's just one of those dudes.  Another year of learning from the Peanut Punch boot camp for everyone else on the team certainly couldn't hurt either.

Having guys like TD, Peanut, etc. around for as long as possible to help cultivate the youngins on the roster is huge going forward.

Listened to that interview on SiriusXM, Peanut is a great guest and was having me chuckle in the car.  Just solidified that he's a good guy, no matter whether he comes back or not.

Kinda figured he'd want to come back, and it allows the team not to be in panic mode for a CB...not that GMan would be anyway.

Bene, Boykin, BradBerry, Worley are all guaranteed pretty much (technically Boykin's contract is easy to cut but he's been a beast and seems locked in at our nickel spot). After that I'd assume we want some special teams contributors. Williams isn't guaranteed but I bet we're keeping him for ST, Lou Young, McClain. Peanut may have a hard time getting a spot, especially if his rehab doesn't go well. I would bet he goes unsigned well into the season and then if we have any injuries or decide he's healed we could bring him back later in the year.
