We Threw Hardy Under the Bus, but We Just Drafted A Guy With the Same Red Flag

Sorry, but Worley has video evidence of assaulting a woman. He should have been banned from the NFL before he had a chance to enter the draft.

Big time waste of a pick, and they traded up for him. I am willing to bet they had no clue about this in his past. Seems like they are just going off of Senior Bowl practice tape.

Here is the audio. http://blackandbluereview.com/audio-daryl-worley-dave-gettleman-on-2014-arrest/

He takes no ownership of it. Told everyone that it was expunged so it no longer matters. No remorse in his voice.

No different than Greg Hardy. Oh wait, it is worse. Worley actually had video tape of the incident and Gettleman saw it. Panthers need to make the video tape public and let the fans decide.

Gettleman vetted it? Check this out. He was facing a 6 month jail sentence and got off light. Charges were never dropped. He plead no contest. He did not plead not guilty. He was suspended because of the incident from WVU. I guess that does not matter. http://wvmetronews.com/2014/10/08/worley-pleads-no-contest-to-assualt-charge-expects-6-month-suspended-sentence/

Here is some more due diligence for you Gettleman. Apparently, the entire WVU football team gets convicted and sentenced to cleaning the stadium after beatings and stabbings. Definitely a story here.

WVU football team ranks in top five for player arrests

The charges were dropped and the conviction WAS expunged from his record. He says it in the audio file with Dave Gettleman. He even met with the Big Cat and they grilled him while he was here.

You clearly do not understand how expunction works for a conviction in West Virginia. This is only allowed for 18-24 year olds to keep the records sealed from employers. This has nothing to do with saying he was found not guilty of the charges. The charges were never dropped. That is a lie. Prosecutors wanted him to serve a 6 year jail sentence, but WVU athletes get off easy. You can stab someone, get convicted, clean the WVU stadium, and then expunge the records a year later if you are a WVU football player.

He forcibly put his hands around a woman's throat, and it was never deemed as self defense. It was assault. He had no chance of pleading not guilty. WVU football players get away with criminal activity often.

did the " girl " Worley supposedly " assaulted "

- flail herself into the bathtub and wind up with multiple bruises and contusions?

- did Worley throw her onto a bed full of firearms and promise to kill her ?

I hardly find Worley s actions in the same league as those of Hardy but if the op insists maybe he can explain why it is.

also, its likely the panthers didnt throw him under a bus ( i mean they paid him $15mil to sit at home) but they got tired of him running out in front of buses and thought it just wasn't worth the expense.

either way, the team got tired of him and let him be someone else's expensive headache. by the long throng of possible suitors (or lack thereof) really bobody wants that headache.

We need to have one more Greg Hardy thread, a poll to chose a filter name for Hardy.

and now a musical interlude

Hardy was thrown under the bus because he didn't want to sit home and collect a check.

Total bullcrap.

Hardy is the one who DID want to "sit home and collect a check" since it was he and his agent that negotiated the suspension with full pay with the NFL, NOT the Carolina Panthers organization.

    • it helps that Bryce and Tmac worked out a bit this off-season before the draft and are familiar with each other's game from way back.  Sure Bryce put in a good word for him to the coaching crew ahead of time That california connection goin' work, I hope
    • Sign but make it mostly incentive driven contract
    • My biggest problem is I think the players he likes don't really work in the modern NFL.  You mentioned the wr room being a lot better, is it?  It has the potential to be.   Last year when we traded up to get Legette, they said they traded up to take him specifically because he was a true X receiver.   Now this year they take TMac because they say he is and that XL was out of posisition last year.  Im not sold on Tmac yet just like I wasn't sold on XL last year.  If TMac isn't a lot better than last XL was last season then that's back to back first rounders in one position that would still need a huge amount of work.  Hopefully Tmac is what everyone seems to think he will be, I'm just not so sure, but them declaring XL was a true X receiver after the draft last year and what they're saying now should at least give you pause about their receivers evaluation because it means they definitely made a mistake one way or another.
