Think Peanut is coming back now?

We have two young corners that need grooming, and we're not done yet.  He hasn't retired, and while he's in rehab he's pretty much said that it's "nothing" and given signs he may come back for another year.

Do you think it's in the cards?

As an assistant/intern coach or otherwise not part of the 53...I'd go for it.

"Grooming" from a player is like combing your hair with other hair. At some point a comb ( or bush for you with more hair) is needed. If Peanut has something he wants to give, I'd rather it come from him on the sidelines. Heavens knows those boys will need all the reps they can handle.

I don't know...last year we went into the season with only 4 corners, and one of them was almost exclusively a special teamer (Teddy Williams). Of course it's feasible we keep more this time, and by season's end we had 5 on the roster; but you've gotta think our 2 (thus far)  rookies, Bene, and Boykin are pretty much guaranteed spots. Tillman is still better than any of McClain, Young, or Williams; just not sure if we'll bring him back instead of giving time to the new guys.

With drafting two corners. probably not, sad to say.  I think we could really use his leadership in that room and being a mentor to these rookies, but maybe there's some other way to make that happen - hiring him as a coach...

Can someone clarify for me, if Peanut WERE to come back and be on the PUP, could he practice with the team?  I'm thinking not, which means that even though he'd not be taking up a roster spot on the PUP, he wouldn't be able to be on the field with the kids, thus defeating the purpose...

He can attend practices and do training stuff, just not take part in drills.

I don't think so. Peanut ran out of gas mid season last year even before his injury.

I think he would be a great mentor for these young guys.  But it will be hard to fit him on the 53 man roster given how he wore down so quickly last year.

I am confident that Wilkes can mold these young guys.
