The Falcons are moving Vic Beasley to LB (he's the guy that made Remmers his bitch)

Recommended Posts

Vic Beasley is primed for his move to strongside linebacker for the Falcons after playing defensive end last season as a rookie.

The Falcons played Brooks Reed and O’Brien Schofield at the strongside linebacker position last season. Reed was injured for most of the season and Schofield, was solid, but not spectacular. He hasn’t been re-signed by the team.

“It’s off to a great start,” said Beasley, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. “I just know that it’s a new position. I played a little bit of linebacker in college, but it’s different in the league. There are more responsibilities, but I’m off to a great start with it.”

Well in SEA I know Red Bryant a guy with the size of a DT often played DE in the base 4-3, I can't imagine ATL switching to 3-4, maybe some looks like we do from time to time, but from what I know about that team do they really have the personnel?

The Saints tried the same move and we see how bad they've been on defense the last few years...I'm just ready for football again.

Reading the article, it is clear he is a liability against the run, so they are trying anything to keep him on the field and will keep him at de in nickel packages.

I smell covering up a top ten pick bust...

Best nugget from that article is that Beasley broke the falcons rookie sack record with 4 sacks

And I believe that led team. 4 sacks from a rookie led...the...team. Tampa is the only competition in this Division. We may drop one to TB and sweep everyone else this year.

Not really a bust but he is only a pass rusher.  I think if I drafted a guy in the top 10 he should not have major flaws. We basically have the same player in delaire but at half the price. Thanks DG.

Last year taught me never to take division games - especially away games - for granted.  Really, having just beat the Falcons 38-0, there was no reason on paper to think we'd lose to them.  But games aren't played on paper...  The psychological / emotional element is all too real too (as is the reality of injuries).

Our two games against NO were both so close last season even though New Orleans is a mess.  I'm predicting we could lose at New Orleans (it's the last game of a pretty tough 3 back-to-back-to-back division game stretch before our bye).  I also don't like our week 16 game schedule with a short week before playing Atlanta during Christmas week.  But at least that one's at home.

While we could sweep our division on paper, I think we could go 4-2 in the South.  Playing us is our division rivals' Super Bowl at the moment... that added motivation could give them a spark.

Agreed but at this point, the only thing we have is on paper. I wouldn't actually predict that we lose one to Tampa anyways. My yearly prediction is always the same:

16-0

    • Someone correct me- doesn't Dave have a six year contract??? I think Dan Morgan does as well..... that's the price you have to pay once you get a rep for firing HCs....
    • Brother re-check that guarantee...my page shows 30mill.....thats means he's staying in my book for at least til the end of 2026.  Im going to be my normal honest self, besides watching like half of the SB, I didn't know the guy. My guess is Panthers have a "planned model of paying players" and they almost had to spend a chunk of space on a DLman after Dbrown injury season gave them a nightmare out-come of worst D in NFL scoring. Once Milton got above Dbrown payments, they went with the plan B. A player whom the "co-GM" put his name with. Brad said turk would not be a problem off-field and leader, which the Panthers need badly. I dug in with the google-fu, I found out  I also found him playing lots of NT, which was shocking given the small frame. He seems ready for a bigger role and had a great SB too. IDK, I feel Dan Morgan was dead set on not going into this season without more DL depth and its there. The real deal is this, nearly all FA take one year to "adjust". I think turk is trying too hard and causing injuries as a result for his contract. Dbrown called turk "strong as hell" and I know for a fact Dbrowns has insane core and strength numbers. They lift together with the 50 LB difference...... you always lift with a guy who's similar in strength cause you can leave on the 8 wheels, let the other guy lift while you rest and go after him.  I do wish he had a better beginning to his panther career, 3 games for him to do so and it would cover up the low points if he made a few plays.... Again it felt like they almost had to make move/spend $$$ and Morgan was going to have DL depth this season no matter what...My best guess.
