Carolina Panthers face tough decision...

Say it ain't so. I hate it, but the way that Getty and Ron do things, you're probably right.

Just think, losing Wegher or CAP and keeping McClain. ***rolls eyes***

With J-Stew's injury history, we may need to keep both. I would hate to lose our big investments, only to have to pick up some JAG mid-season due to lack of depth, or rely on a true change-of-pace back like Fozzy whose frame is not really built for heavy duty.

The J-No thing may have yet another casualty if the rookie corners can't get it together (which they must be having trouble with doing).

Ugh!

I really wouldn't be surprised if a rb and/or a receiver goes to it with a "hang nail" before final cuts are made. I suspect there are a couple of guys who will not last long at all on the practice squad

imo mcclain is expendable, particularly if tillman returns

Honestly, McClain has proved to be expendable in the sense that not one NFL team picked him up when we cut him last season. He was on the couch until we dragged him up late. Some have suggested that he did a good job upon his return, but not from my perspective. I hope they're just keeping him around to mentor the rookies until the last cuts, but Christmas doesn't come in August.

At RB I wouldn't make Fozzy a lock, I'd like to see Wegher and CAP make it ... Fozzy might be fast but I wouldn't feel comfortable with him being the horse back, CAP and Wegher seem like they can take the punishment of being every down backs

Fozzy is so well liked by the coaches and the entire team for his play but also in the locker room,  it would take a whole lot for him to be cut.

As intresting as Wegher is,  McClain has made plays, started games, has interceptions and passes defended in the NFL. Wegher is still just an intrigue.

This may or may not be a question by the end of the preseason, RB's have  a way of getting banged up.  Not hoping for injury by any means, but I wouldn't mind shelving Wegher or CAP for another year.  Stew is most likely gone after 16, unless he takes a CJ type pay cut, and I can see Wegher and CAP being good enough to be a RB by committee after this season.

It could be my eyes, but I sure do like Wegher's burst and running "attitude".

I cant believe theyd keep fozzy over two more talented players. Im sorry but Fozzy is an okay 3rd down guy but when stew got injured he was horrible. He couldnt get 3 yards going up the middle and that was a huge problem in the games Stew was out.

We need to make sure we have a RB that can do what we need him to do and i just dont see fozzy being used that much. If we ran more screens, maybe but we dont.

This is my thinking as well. It's kind of rare to go through TC will all of your RB's 100% healthy. They could always use the PUP list to give them a chance to see a player for a while longer, while keeping another player they like.

I would trust CAP as the primary RB if Stew got injured more than I would trust Fozzy but I think Wegher is the odd man out.

I like CAP too, but he did worry me a little with those fumbles last season. BTW, what is with the Fozzy hate? That guy has made some big plays for us and he's obviously a team player.

    • It really is insane how they always try to rig the game vs Dallas. Two exceptions being our playoff games.    Had we lost it definitely would have been right up there with the 2014 Playoffs vs 49ers, Dallas 05, Saints 2018 Playoffs, and SB50 as all time rigged games.
    • Say you don't understand PFF without saying you don't understand PFF... Every week seems like some of the same people are complaining about something they clearly don't understand.  I'm not saying they are the end all resource out there but once you understand their methodology you can start to appreciate some of their work. For example, their grading system isn't a high school grading system, try to look at some of it in relative terms.  Rico had an 82 rushing grade, that's pretty good.  I would be curious to know how that compares to every other running back this past weekend. Also, I think he had a few penalties, which if I'm not mistaken are graded pretty harshly.
    • Can we go back to square one for a minute and remember what we paid for this guy and how he was sold?  He was like, the anti excuse. Makes everybody better, Did we get that?  I think the answer is still coming but so far you might can say that for a game or two.  Cam had issues with personnel every season almost. Horrible OL, but he had receivers. Decent to good OL no receivers. Etc. Bryce needs to stand up, or keep standing up, however you want to put it. It is big boy time in year 3. He doesn’t have to make the playoffs but there is a standard. We’ll see what happens.  But the excuses are just fuging tired.  ps, I mean let’s not crown him when he has franchise record production in two wins,.. let’s see when they stop that, how he does then.
