Remember Tarvaris Jackson?

Mr. Scot

No, not the receiver that was paired with Marvin McNutt. That was Tavarres King.

Tarvaris Jackson is a former backup quarterback that spent time with a couple of different NFL teams, most notably the Seahawks backing up Russell Wilson. If I recall correctly, there was a time when some folks on this board wanted the Panthers to sign Jackson as a backup to Cam Newton.

Obviously that never happened, and now Jackson is in trouble with the law after pulling a gun on his wife.

PFT: Former Seahawks QB arrested

So other than the fact that he was mentioned in conversation here a couple of times, why post this story here?

Because of this  "ouch" worthy quote.

Quote

Jackson later told police he did grab a bag containing his gun and told his wife that he should shoot her. Per the report, Jackson’s wife replied that he “better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.”

Looks like we picked right Vikings project qb. Come to think of it, the Vikings surely have the record for the most black qbs ever. Greats like moon, Cunningham, culpepper, and then not so greats like Jackson, Webb, freeman. Now bridgewater. I'm sure there are a few others sprinkled in there.

Edit: forgot mcnabb

No doubt in my mind the Seahawks will be lucky to make the playoffs this year due in large part to that absolute sieve of an OL. If under the very real if not likely scenario that dangeRuss misses time due to injury as a result, Trevone Boykin, UDFA who missed his last college game due to fighting the Po-Po, gets the nod.  Either he or the Jimmy gets a call.

I never understood why a woman would try to elicit a violent reaction from a man in the first place?

What is there to gain?  You got to "tell him what's up" but then what if he knocks your teeth out?

What did you get out of it?  A broken nose, black eye, busted lip?  Yeah he goes to jail but you gotta look like the loser of the undercard for the next 3 weeks or so and eat through a straw.

It's just not smart is all I'm saying, but you do you boo-boo I'll just catch the vines on World-Star.

    • That's a very incorrect statement right off the bat, coaches get fired for winning ugly all the time.  Every coach of a playoff team that then gets fired, got fired because they won ugly and didn't improve their players enough to win in the postseason. Guys like Andy Reid have been fired for "winning ugly" like you said, because they kept winning in spite of the improvement of their players. Also, "this is a fanbase starved for wins" is a statement I also don't agree with, I'm not "starved for wins", I'm "starved for a winning and contending franchise" which are two VERY different things. If the team and fans just want to win some games, then that's a loser mentality, sorry, but it is.  We should want to contend, not win a handful of games.  Every time this comes up I point back to the Lions the last 5 years or so.  They were losing games but improving every week while doing so a few years back.  THAT is how you improve as a franchise and move the needle towards contending, not winning games ugly.
    • Good lord. I don’t think I have ever seen a hole that open.
    • this is true.  But NFL Ss and defenses are actively taking that away and playing to take them away vs most teams.  The problem thus far in BY's career......is they are cheating and not respecting the deep game which makes the smaller/mid range game harder to pull off.  and Dallas is an anomaly game.  using those random games that run counter to vast work......doesn't really change the discussion/issues in Carolina.  Bryce Young took the shots this week because they were not just NFL open but college open.    Wide open dudes downfield that really were coverage busts/issues.
