ugghh. It was an easy interception until he, for no reason at all, turned his hips back toward the qb and started back pedaling. Worst play in panthers history? I mean I really can't think of anyone just completely failing at their job more.. Byron Bell maybe?

Side note: anyone have the gif of him hip-tossing a saints player?

nvm:

That goal line run against the 49ers in the playoffs featured Wharton tripping on the turf untouched and ruining the play. That one was pretty bad if I remember it correctly.

we had what, three goal line possessions in that game and came away with 3 points total from them i think?  just brutal.

Worst play in Panther history? Hmm...

Martin had a similar blunder at the end of a half.  There is always the classic Gamble punt return

but yeah, I would have to agree it is the worst defensive play on our history.

Offensively....id have to think about the AZ Jake game and all the Clausen ball

Part of the problem was that Wharton was just totally out of gas toward the end of the season, and then to go into the playoffs, he just didn't much left. I was watching him run and thinking "he's almost dragging his feat", then our genius OC called plays where he had to pull, and I had a bad feeling a trip was coming. Side note: I was out of my mind angry during that game and almost lost my voice from screaming.

Norman knew he had help behind him so bit on the double move. How the hell did the receiver get behind the free safety is the question.

Trail technique in a zone?

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
