So calls of his being a bust based on his first couple of NFL practices in pads were, perhaps, too hasty? Inconceivable.

And somehow Hill is getting accolades for barely participating at all.

So, is keeping 10 d-linemen out of the question?  I recall us having only eight last year, which may have been an issue with out 4th quarter collapses.  An extra DE & DT could go a  long way.

10 is very heavy DL, it's happen in the past. Once you have a injury else where and need to cut someone, DL gets the cut. In the Ron era, hes normally carried 9(4dt, 5DEs). Problem with carrying a 5th DT, is Special teams. DT has a little value there outside field goal block team. Plus the panthers are heavy in rotation, where DTs don't use the same energy as DEs. All this changes if the team is 3-4 defense.

Just hate to see us lose Kyle Love.  Thought he played quite well last season.

Yep that hurts, he loves it here and playing on a minimum contract. He's star insurance, to me. Stars foot could flare up at any time and the panthers open at Denver. Plus he's more of run stuffer and this is a passing league. I believe if the panthers had a choice to get out of solais' contract and not pay the 3mill guaranteed, they would. I thought it was odd given the depth in the draft, but they signed him anyway. It's super awesome and sad that the panthers have loads of quality depth.

Okay. So, the coaches are pairing Butler with Chris Scott. That should give him a confidence boost. He needs it after struggling against the better competition. If you can not beat Chris Scott, then you do not belong in this league as a DT.

BTW, why is Chris Scott still on this team? He gets yelled at almost every practice for laying on the ground too much during plays. You think the coaches would have learned their lesson after the 49ers playoff game that he single handily hurt the offense on every critical play near the goal line.

They keep cutting him and then just bring him back. Glad they got David Yankey to replace Scott. I hope they never bring Scott back again after he is cut again. There are too many other young guards with more potential than Chris Scott. Stop wasting time by burning a spot on Scott.

This goes for several other players that have had their chance and should be gone for fresh potential in younger players.

Don't show the David Yankey v Vernon Butler gifs. It will make Butler look bad.

Not expecting any starting caliber play from Butler until his 3rd year. He should have been drafted in the 2nd or early 3rd round. Just another player drafted too high by the Panthers compared to their actual draft value.

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
