What mishandling? They didn't want him so they didn't even offer to extend him.  If they had any interest in him they would have extended a year ago.

Now you could argue the haven't done a good job replacing.

right, because he was demanding too much. imo we should've tossed a little more at him instead of betting on finding a new guy with the same production.

It's that why all teams just drops any punter asking for more than minimum and gets a, just as good, guy of the street? Oh wait, noone does....
