I just don't understand how. Was his knee held together by silly string? It was a non-contact drill for crying out loud. ACL I can understand, but the whole damn knee? Sheesh, poor guy.

I mean there was that whole "skinny knees" knock on him going into the draft that gets mocked often. Maybe there really was something to that.

The human body is a curious thing. Remarkably resilient and durable sometimes and shockingly fragile at other times. Weird things can happen when cleats plant into the ground and bodies twist.

it's sad when the Teddy Bridgewater thread is longer here on the Huddle than the Vikings message board.

They don't use the official Viqueens message board just like we don't use the Panthers official board. Here's the board they do use:

Bridgewater thread there has more posts than ours

Them taking him to a trauma center isn't necessarily indicative of anything. Any EMTs will tell you there's a whole host of factors that contribute to where they take people; location, distance, hey he might get worse so lets go there just in case, whatever.

The fact they had EMTs on the field is really bad. The fact that players were gagging is really bad. The fact three hours later they still don't know what it is indicates he's still in surgery, meaning it's emergency surgery, which is REALLY fuging bad. With a tendon tear you typically wait for the swelling to go down before you operate.

This sounds like either a dislocated knee, which would do substantial structural, vascular and nerve damage, or a compound fracture.

Either way this is probably it for him in his career.

Zimmer said he was getting an MRI, not in surgery.
