Is Cam Newton cocky

Watching Sports Nation, guys are talking about an interview he gave where he talks about wanting to be the best to ever play, quoted Ali who said " I was the greatest even before I was the greatest"... so what say you guys, is Cam cocky and does he have a right to be. Also, what are the chances he finishes his career as the GOAT.

I think Cam is a little cocky but in a good way. But he is mostly just very confident. As @Mr. Scot said most players are at least a little cocky. In all my years of watching football I can only think of maybe two players off the top of my head that I don't think was cocky at all, Luke Kuechly and Barry Sanders.

I'm sure there are/were a very few others but my old mind don't work as well as it use to.

    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
    • I thought tanking wasn't actually a thing and we were firmly against it though?
