and your captains...no surprises

You know, I'm betting CJ is the most appreciative of the bunch. Even though I'm sure he knew that his release was mostly due to cap concerns, he's gotta be thrilled to come back, just because he loves the Panthers, and find himself being named a captain.

When will we get one of Gettleman's players as a captain for the team? There are 6 captain spots. I would imagine Gettleman's players are good enough to get one of those 6 spots.

Guess not.

Never, because Gettleman's the worst GM in the league and the Panthers will never win anything with him so I guess we just shouldn't watch or care about football until he's fired.

That's because he's only had to fill in side dishes. Steak was already here

Captains are usually veterans. Veterans are usually players that have been in the league for a while. This is Gettleman's fourth year. Therefore none of his picks are veterans. Therefore none of his picks are captains

Seems like sound logic. Cam was a captain in his 3rd season. Kuechly was a captain in his 2nd season. So, non-Gettleman picks just get to captain status quicker? Or does it just take longer for a Gettleman drafted player to act like a veteran?

Either way Gettleman drafted players need to have at least 1 of the 6 captain spots by now.

    • Looking like it might be game 7 for Pitt and Phi. Philly is spent. I like more rest for the canes
    • Moton is the man through and through. 2 things I'll always give Gettleman credit for, 1 is drafting Moton, the other is building a SB contending roster and blowing it up in one off-season
    • Kurb is still alive and well.  I’m still friends with him on all of the social media.  He truly is a great man!  That’s my bro!  He always looked out for me since the early days of the huddle.  It definitely makes me sad that he just quit posting here, but that’s life.  He still shares his takes on social media and X, but a lot of the huddle vets just grew tired of this format and the environment, I guess?  It’s a lot of guys that were valuable contributors here that just stopped posting but are still alive and passionate Panthers fans.  Blindsite used to post huge write-ups and was a well-respected poster and then just disappeared.  We had one of these type threads several years ago and he checked back in and explained he just lost the motivation to stay active here.  It was amazing hearing from him again…   I signed up in 04 after coming over from the Charlotte.com boards and been here ever since.  (For those that don’t know - this is Proudiddy - had to change the name very recently due to ‘ol tootsie roll penis and the bad press 😂).  I’m forever thankful for all of you, even those who I haven’t had the greatest history with, I still appreciate yall.  Many have come and gone, both figuratively and literally, and that has put a lot into perspective over the years.  I went from a young, newly married, wide-eyed twenty year-old guy with a baby on the way, to a now forty-two year-old guy, recently divorced and newly re-married guy with my oldest baby now an adult and 5 more kids since.  And what ride it has been!  You guys have been a much bigger part of my life than I really care to acknowledge.😂
