So...moving on to Tampa Bay

Monday Night at home. A team the Panthers have dominated in recent years. Derek "Bucfuger" Anderson likely starting at QB. Finally a chance to turn it around? Sad to say the Bucs and Panthers are pretty evenly matched right now and it could be a close game.

A loss would all but end the season, but I'm cautiously optimistic the Panthers can pull this game out.

Panthers 30

Bucs 26

I dont know man...teams already know know pressure is what beats Cam behind our suspect O-line. More so given a backup QB. I think Andersan can ball out...but iof teams can put that much pressure on us with Cam and all of his ability to run....well...it doesnt look good for Anderson.

I wont bother to speculate a score. dont care. So long as we win.....but damn....if he cant protect Cam...i dont see how we can protect Anderson.

I mean if we got blown out I wouldn't be surprised. I could see Jameis having his official coming out party much like Romo did back in 2006. The Panthers secondary is pretty awful right now. If you've got Mike Evans in fantasy...START HIM!

This is why the play calling has to make the defense stop sending pressure.  Run plays, draws, screens, etc are all anti-blitzing plays.  Until we stop standing there exchanging punches, we're going to have a long day.

Agreed...but we had all offseason to draft that blueprint since we were exposed. Yet,we didnt. If we couldnt do that over the offseason and camp...i dont see how we suddenly do it within a week. Either way...keep pounding!

Matt ryan was just throwing it up with his eyes closed sunday.  I understand it was hulio most of the time but tampas recivers are high quality also.

Im not really sure what the answer is.  You blitz linebackers the middle is WIDE open.  You dont winston stands there and waits for a reciver to just run right past the corners zone into the gap.  Its almost to the point of going to man and just seeing what happens.

I think the Bucs are looking at this as a get-right game. Our boys seem to be down and out right now. We'll see though. Regardless we follow this up with a trip to New Orleans where they are sure to put up 40+ on us. How'd we get here...........

    • yeah, now it's going to get awkward.  The team circles pay attention to all this stuff.  All the wives and girlfriends see the posts.  They all talk like everyone.  Football is just a normal world outside of the fact they play a game for lots of money.  Gossip travels. They know the Theilen's want out at this point.  Carolina is now the disappointed failed trade location.    So now AT takes sort of an inhouse hit in Carolina IMO
    • Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
    • Just get the deal done. We've teased it so much that the Thielen's expect it. Now we run the risk of our veteran WR locker room presence becoming disgruntled. Just take what we can get, make him happy, and get future assets while freeing up snaps for guys who will be here beyond this season.
