So edgy. No capitalization or punctuation. You're the football hipster E.E. Cummings.

ah damn, it's all over for me

i knew i should've just kept getting banned and making new accounts for the sole purpose of flaming forum posters for supporting the decisions of a general manager who doesn't even know or care that i exist

e: and thanks for noticing the fact that i don't capitalize anything

You never heard the saying "you get what you pay for"?

This game was mostly on the coaching staff, but this season is on Gettleman.

oh yeah, i forgot all about all the fans on this board begging for an upgrade at backup QB this offseason.

yeah i've heard that saying but i have no idea what relevance it has in this situation considering it was derek anderson who's never thrown an interception or lost a game in his starts as a panther prior to last night throwing to pro bowl tight end greg olsen who just signed an extension.

great post-hoc conclusion there

Well considering we have one of the cheapest offenses in the NFL, it's no surprise we are struggling. More than half our offense is made up of castoff players no other teams wanted.

How is it that the broncos who won the SB made more moves than us? HOW?

Well, first off they don't have any $$$$ tied up in the most expensive position on the field.  So, yeah, that's why they could make more moves.  They paid miller big money, but, they also don't have a $100 million quarterback on the books.

No he wasn't. If Hurney was a better drafter, 2013 would have been an easy SB win. Go back and please look at the 2008-2011 drafts. 4 drafts and you got Cam at #1 overall, Stewart at #13 overall, Hardy and Munnerlyn. That's it. That's awful and no Cam doesn't make up for it. That's just dumb luck and because his 2008-2010 drafts were so bad.

ETA: Here's an example. We traded to get Everette Brown. The 1st rounder in 2010 could have netted us Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Mike Iupati, Maurkice Poucey or Devin McCourty. Those 5 guys went at our pick through the next 10. Think we could have had a better goal line offense with Thomas or Bryant against SF or had a ridiculous secondary with McCourty? That is just one example of how we got fuged by Hurney's bad drafting that cost us a real chance at a SB in 2013 and beyond. Luckily Gettleman's 2013/2014/2015 classes helped us get to the SB last year.

Well let's consider the 2008 draft. Otah was great, but he got hurt. Dan Conner got hurt. Barnidge turned into a great TE, but we cut him to keep trash. Godfrey wasn't good, but he's about on the level of Boston sadly. Nick Hayden is still in the league, and so is Geoff Schwartz. Had players not got hurt, and had we not cut the rest the 2008 draft would be considered really good, if not great.

Some other players I see you're missing are our current best healthy CB McClain, and the great Donald LaFell. You're also ignoring the entire 2012 draft where we picked up All-Pros in Kuechly and Norman. The 2012 draft also had Brad Nortman, a pretty good punter, no Andy Lee, but we didn't give up a fourth for him so it's not very comparable. We also grabbed Frank "420ERRDAY" Alexander who looked good, but couldn't let the reefer go.

Based on what?

According to Spotrac.com we are 4th in offensive cap spent this year.

This team went 17-1 last year and a trip to the SB.

We lost:

Norman - very good player

Harper - which most of the so called "experts" on here claimed could be upgraded by anyone

We gained:

A free agent DT - Soliai

A first round pick DT - Butler

A #1 receiver - KB - added to an offense that was the best in the league last year

Considering most of the team stayed the same I would think 10% is kind of low for the players.

Outside of Norman DG pretty much kept last years team intact.

Wow, Otah and Barnidge are great? Otah was a first round pick, he's supposed to have talent but he played 29 games. Barnidge has 2015 and that's it. Olsen last night had almost as many yards as Barnidge has all this year and heck as almost every season Barnidge had aside from 2015.

Now McClain is good? He's a backup level CB who's got experience in our system and is serviceable. I like him, but still those 4 drafts were awful.

Every GM has some good picks and Hurney had quite a few top 15 picks so we should expect good players and he's had other good picks. His 2008-2011 drafts and his cap issues are why he is gone. If he hadn't traded away those firsts and picked up guys like Demaryius Thomas who we could have had instead, he'd still be here and we could have already had a ring in 2013.

I mean it's pretty much undisputed that Otah was great, but got hurt. Barnidge whether you want to admit it or not is looking legit. Though it's funny you mention Olsen since Hurney traded a third round pick for him, and looks to be the best trade the Panthers have ever made, and may ever make.

McClain is what he is, but for the as late of a pick as he was he's doing well.

All I'm trying to say is you can't downplay that Hurney did hit on some great picks. Players that may be some of the best in franchise history, who knows.

i'm sorry, gettleman could have done more, the coaches could have dug in more and could have tried new things when our losses consistently show our "identity" is not working, but i put the blame mostly on the players.

the players aren't executing. the players are playing sloppy. the players are playing without passion. the players are missing key blocks, wide open receivers, and routine tackles. our best guys don't look like they are upset or that there is something under their skin, they straight up look incompetent. i blame them. i don't wanna hear any bullshit about the coaches have to get them there. fug no. that's a lie. coaches may be required to ignite a team when they have a culture of losing or some personal difference turned the locker room toxic, but for week to week or day to day motivation. no sir. that's what we have team captains for, that's what we have multiple pregame huddles and chants for. that's what guys get paid millions for. don't tell me for a second that this team needs ron to hold their hand through the week to keep them motivated.

i'd love to blame the coaches and their game plans. in truth, the game plans could probably be better. however, the players can't even fuging execute the game plan they have. they still blow it. so far, the game plans may not have been sure thing home runs, but they still put us in striking distance of winning nearly every game this year. the players have blown it every single game. that's on no one but them.

it's unfuging believable that our all-pros and probowlers suck this much dick. as far as i'm concerned, it's on them, and they deserve to keep losing like the bitches they are acting like until some of them start getting some fire in their bellies again. someone in that locker room needs to wake the fug up and say something. someone needs to call them out.

we need an enforcer on this team and we don't have one. and don't try and tell me josh would be the guy. josh had a great personal attitude for himself and his weekly matchup, but he isn't an emotional leader. his attitude would be turning to poo right now on this team. we need a hard ass like steve smith. someone who will stage a players only meeting and who will yell at his teammates for real. i thought TD would be that guy, but he seems to be too focused on his mohawk and being one of the young guys, he's lost the old school attitude.
