It's become official. He's going to see a concussion specialist soon this week to see where and how he should proceed from here. Unlikely he'll be back for oakland, and Klein (if he's back from a concussion of his own) will have to fill his shoes. Otherwise, if Mayo is on the field, pray for the defesne

Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly did in fact suffer his second concussion in the past two seasons Thursday night, a source confirmed.

The Panthers had previously only confirmed that Kuechly is in the concussion protocol, which doesn't always mean a player has suffered a concussion.

Kuechly now is considering traveling to Pittsburgh this week to visit concussion specialist, Dr. Micky Collins, to get a second opinion on the injury and how he should proceed.

It's hard to imagine that Kuechly will be cleared to play Carolina's next game on Nov. 27 at Oakland. But Kuechly still is going through the process now as the Panthers deal with multiple concussions this season.

Trying not to be pessimistic and certainly not rooting for us to lose, but with two west coast games in a row and us basically having to win out to have a shot at the playoffs, I say put Luke on IR for 2016 and let him heal and be ready for next season. Hell, put TD on IR too while we're at it.

Remember the Seattle playoff game where our only RB was Hoover, because John Fox had put Stephen Davis on IR way too early?

Remember that year we were3-8-1 and still won our division?

It ain't over til it's over.

you're crazy

Crazy? what can you do given the circumstances? I'm not one to whine and cry against a brick wall hoping it will move out of the way. if our two MLBs can't play due to concussions the they can't play. might as well see what Mayor has for us.

The season is over. No one is winning the division with a losing record this year. The 2014 title was a once every 10-15 year fluke where everything fell a certain way. Even in that season, as this year, we were not winning a super bowl. IR him and hope he is ready (and willing) to come back full strength next season.

I would certainly not rush it and yeah he should just sit out the west coast trip.  With two concussions in two years you certainly err on the side of caution.  If we go out there and win both games or even one you reevaluate but even then I wonder if it is a good idea to play him this year.  His health is the most important thing.

    • so.....the entire second round is essentially holding out for guaranteed contracts.  Seems like it is stuck w/ Judkins and Emmanowori being the 3rd and 4th picks of that round and whatever slow trickle down does or doesn't produce from them.
    • This is always a non-story by the time camp begins.
    • I've really only begun to pay attention this week being that training camp is looming, so I was personally caught off guard by the fact that Nic Scourton remains unsigned. That's not necessarily bad news, but it's not necessarily good news either. Apparently it's a thing with this year's draft class. "Of the 32 players selected in the second-round, 30 remained unsigned and the clock is ticking. "Already we've seen one second-round pick hold out from the start of training camp with that player being Los Angeles Chargers' wide receiver Tre Harris. Harris did not report with the rest of the Chargers' rookies on Saturday due to his contract situation, a issue that could impact nearly every other team in the league. "For the Panthers, defensive end Nic Scourton is the player to watch for when rookies start showing back up to the team facilities next week. "The 51st overall pick is one of the 30 second-rounders who has yet to sign their rookie contract and the reason why is due to the other two that have actually signed. "Cleveland Browns' linebacker Carson Schwesinger and Houston Texans' wide receiver Jayden Higgins each signed fully guaranteed contracts as the first and second players drafted in the second-round. Prior to this year, second-round picks never received a fully guaranteed deal, only players selected in the first-round." https://atozsports.com/nfl/carolina-panthers-news/panthers-nic-scourton-contract-second-round-pick-training-camp-hold-out-tre-harris/ So, I suppose we'll see what's what pretty soon. It's definitely something to monitor.
