Panthers Defense

The Panthers have allowed 20 points or less in the last four games. They are 3-1 in that stretch.

Considering defensive teams tend to do well later in the year, does this give you hope?

Having Keek out there running around like a missle is the only thing that gives me hope for this defense. 

D line and secondary need to show up big today

raiders offense is going to torch the panthers injured defense today.  the only thing carolina can do is have a good offense today.  I say carolina wins in a shoot out. 35-33 panthers

I have two areas of concern.  Oline and Dline.  I think our secondary can hold up but I'm not sure we get much of a pass rush.  Oakland's Offensive line is solid.  The name Kony Ealy only strikes fear in the heart of the nearest hotdog stand, because eating is the only thing I can imagine he's put any effort into since the superb owl.  And then there's Ryan Delaire, A.K.A "Flash in The Pan" that runs himself completely out of the play or spends his time laying on the ground acting like he's making snow angels.  Cam is gonna do his best to win this game on offense even with this patchwork Oline that is as porous as a collander.  If we win, it will be on Cam's shoulders.  I'll go with the optimistic 27-24, but not because of our defense.

tbh the slow starts hurt more than anything, it took 6-8 weeks to start gelling. Offensively, the Oline is the biggest problem. Cam just doesn't have time. It's all on the defense, and they realized it and stepped up. Now if Shula will just call plays to help Cam out.

We need to get more physical on both fronts period.

Just limit big plays for fugs sake.  I can handle a loss but getting drug up and down the feild sends me into a tizzy.

As long as the offense can put up 20 points and shut out the opponent through 3 quarters, they will always keep it close.

Does a defense that must not give up a TD in the first 3 quarters to have a shot at winning in the 4th quarter give you hope?

The Panthers have given up 44 points in the 4th quarter in the past 3 games. Does that give you hope?

The Panthers need to be happy they have 4 wins in 10 weeks with the way their defense implodes on itself in the 2nd half, and definitely collapses in the 4th quarter.

I love this team, I'll never root for us to lose for draft picks like some fans, with the exception of 2010(sorry).....

But, no, I have little hope. The Chiefs loss ripped my football heart out because we were building momentum, dominated them for three quarters, and then proceeded to sh*t the bed 2011-2012 style.

Why do I have such little hope? Injuries, our offense is only good for one half, and for as good as our defense has been over the years with McDermott we have had one consistent problem that nobody talks about. We are not a "closeout" defense. A lot of games we win come down to hanging on for dear life. And that's the lack of a consistent pass rush since Hardy leaving and lacking the impact Safety this defense needs.

Nah, watch the scheme closely and join me in crying out for a stud at Safety. Coleman is fine....as a centerfielding FS. But I'd kill for Jamal Adams in the 2017 draft.
