Oh how close we were

You're delusional if you think Ron's getting fired after this season. He just took this team to a SB and has got three straight NFCS titles.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be fired, I'm just saying he won't be. OC's will be the first to go, really even doubting that will happen this year. I believe everyone will be back next year and if this team stumbles again there will be a shake-up.

Eh but idk how much of that credit can be given to Ron. And winning the division at 7-8-1 doesn't mean we had a good season.

Without the late season rally which Ron seems to be good at we wouldn't have made it. I get people like Mr. Scott's point that they're tired of having to rely on a late season push without a strong start. Just not ready to give up on this staff personally yet.

Don't think he will just hoping. And if Shula doesn't get fired after this year something is really wrong with this franchise.

The speeches of Ron have fell on deaf ears this yr..All the things that have happen to the team have entered the minds of the players...You look at the SB and see no improvements..Cam beat up in SB and 1st game this yr and it continued without so much of a verbal word from Ron..Josh let go with really n justification even tho he stated he would have signed tag if he would have been informed of their plans. Gano continues to mess up remmers, and tolbert but still awarded playing time...Josh mess up he would get benched or chewed out. I personally think that this organization lacks variety in personalities..even tho Ron says he lets his players be themsrlves i think behind closed doors it it is a different story. Team is unraveling and there is nothing Ron can do..He didn't back his players..not the ones that truly counted anyways.

Problem ain't Rivera. He's a pretty damn good coach. And the guys play hard for him it's funny how a bad season and benching Cam all of a sudden makes him a terrible coach.

His biggest problem is not firing Shula. Just fire the damn guy already. He's an average I mean really average OC. Look what we did last year with him. Imagine this offense with a real OC.

Ron has managed to take this team further than we can imagined with some of the mediocre talents and areas of weakness. Gman hasn't give Ron any help at all. Ron took this team to three straight playoffs with average secondaries. Gave guys like Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman, and Kurt Coleman a living. Even Melvin White made a living for a while.

Our needs three years ago (CB, S, and OT) are still our needs today. And, it's showing this season. Blame Gman and Jerry, not Ron.

Really? You don't think that Rivera has made questionable judgements this year? What games have you been watching? He has lost multiple games this year by simply not knowing how to manage a game clock or use timeouts. Rewatch the Saints or Tampa Bay game.

How hard did the Panthers play for him on Sunday?

Rivera didn't lose the team. The team lost itself. Where did keep pounding go.

This year, we're the ones getting pounded in more ways than one. Started with having to relive the SB right off the bat. Then the Broncos took cheap shots at Cam. Then Gano missed the FG but a win against SF eased worries. With the Vikings, we had a TD called back because of a hold which led to the sack safety that also gave Oher the concussion. A large chuck of our secondary got hurt just in time for Julio Jones to destroy us and to add insult, we lost Cam which cost us the game against the Bucs.

Bye week rolls around and we tried to fix things. Initial promise then gave way to the O-line getting decimated by the week. KB fumbles in the Chiefs game and even a victory against the Saints felt like a loss because of Luke. Raiders was the last best gasp but then you have Trai at right tackle and that pass to Olsen that could've been a season saver but it didn't connect. By the time Seattle rolled out, the physical and mental toll of so many things seemed too much. The monent I heard in the broadcast that Seattle was getting players back while we were losing even more pretty much told me that it was going to be a bloodbath.

In theory, you could argue that someone other than Rivera could avoided some coaching mistakes but the flip side is that another coach would've also made their own mistakes. That and there's the question of whether anyone else could've handled all these injuries and still kept the team in contention in the first place. They might have and even won or been blown out by everyone after the bye week. It's all speculative.

The thing is it wasn't just this bad season, if it was, I wouldnt have that big of a problem with him he has made questionable calls since he's been here. Not firing Shula is a weakness on Ron. And what do you mean with "guys like josh norman" he is an elite player and shut down half the field for us last season making Coleman and co look a lot better than they actually are.

What are we waiting for. The goal is consistency. 2 winning seasons with 1 outlier and a super bowl appearance isn't good enough. We should be striving for consistent excellence. This year is a disgrace. Who thought we weren't going to meet our goal of first ever back to back winning seasons? He is mediocre. We don't need or want that. Wish him well. A good guy. But at the end of the day, just like it is for salesman of the year winners, What have you done for me lately? He has gone from Hero to Zero in 1 season. Unacceptable!
