Play Kuechly or not?

There is absolutely no reason Luke should see the field in 2016.  Why risk it?  The team is is not going to make the playoffs.

The current methodology behind the concussion protocol is very flawed.  Just because an individual has stopped showing cognitive and physical deficits associated with concussion  does not mean they are at a reduced risk for secondary injury.

Luke had what appeared to be a bad brain injury 2 weeks ago. just like anything else, the longer it is allowed to heal the better. Reward does not justify the risk. if Luke gets another concussion this season, the implications could be devastating for him, the Panthers and the league. Said it before, the NFL would have a hard time recovering if this kid is badly injured.

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
