Tidbit from Voth on officiating and Newton

Cam's old news now that you have the Tandom of Prescott and Elliott.  The NFL sees them as the resurrection of the NFL fan base.  The largest bandwagon ever finally has a team thats good again, and will flood the NFL feeds and saturate the market again.  Makes me sick.

Yeah the only solution to all of the officiating, hits to the head, etc.? Probably going to need to win the SB. Do that, and the media/officials give you the Brady/Brees/Manning treatment. Sad that it's going to take that, but IMO it's what Cam will have to do to finally get the respect deserved by a lot of the old football guys.

Cam will never get the Manning/Brady treatment. He could win 3 rings and the credit will go to someone else. If the panthers  lose, we know where the blame is going. Basically the opposite of Luck and the colts.

At some point you have to find a way to fine and suspend the bad refs. Way too much power and not enough accountability. I think a penalty replay system would be a huge first step. Take the refs totally out of the game if they are calling a bad game. After that a review system at the end of the year to deal with the worst ones.

Well then the story would be Cam retires because he's afraid to get hit. It will take a whole new spin. But another thing, I doubt Cam is gonna give in to that pressure because that's giving the powers that be the glory in saying "we won." Not gonna happen. The only person it'll be a PR nightmare for is Cam.

I gotta think that if Cam held a presser to announce his retirement, it would be broadcasts world wide. A poo ton of people would hear the "Why". And that "Why" would be a big pr problem for the NFL. They make a big deal of player safety, yet one of their biggest stars is walking away because he fears for his? Yea, IMO, that would be big time news.

The truth is. Every time Cam gets hit, slapped, or anything in the head area. Folks talk about it. Cam is leading a Revolution. We all said he was going to revolutionize the game.

    • Truth. Like when UNC hired Butch Davis and then we get hit for recruiting violations. Like yeah, no poo. Dude coached Miami when they we paying like the 33rd NFL team. What did you expect?
    • He's a hard player to rank, cause he is a young NT. I do see his abilities to branch out among the DL. That's the only way for him to land in the 1st, some team has to believe he's got the stuff to play DE or T3.... I just don't see using 19 on him, I feel there should be around 7 players just ranked higher than him for the Panthers team.  ___________________________________________________________________   Now you are a roster nut like me. Im tossing this into fire, I think a good move is to trade UP, yes rare. Just the roster #s tell me 5 rookies and no more than 2 starters will make the team. I feel 5 is magic number.    QB- 2  BY, Pickett RB- 3   Chubba, Brooks(pls), etienne TE- 4   Sanders, Temble, Evans, Draft pick/major/franks/UDFA OL- 10   Walker, Lewis, Fortner, Hunt, Motown, Zavailla, Samac, Stone, Draft pick, Draft pick/Charles/carter WR-  6   Tmac, XL, Coker, Metch, Horn, Tremay   offense=  25 with 3 draft picks   DL-  6   Brown, Brown, Wharton, Ray, Cam, Hunter/draft pick Ed-   5  Phillips, Nic, Prince, Jones, ST/incoom/hampton ILB-   5  Lloyd, Wallace, Bam, Claud, draft pick CB-    5 Horn, Jackson, Thor, Evans, draft pick/CSN/UDFA SS-  4  Scott, More, Ramsom, Sim   Defense = 25 with 2 picks   ST = known 3+o+d = 53 roster   SO I see only room for 5-6 with factoring in UDFA pool. That tells me to trade up! Bonus the 1st+3rd gets in front of TB yucs. Then use one of the 5ths+2nd to draft another target. That's your two starters and use the 4th, 5th and 6th for the development OTs and what ever the best player are at the pick/DB. The last couple years they have added 2-3 UDFA each year, maybe the same this year too. Soooooooo Im normally 95% trade back, but above made me change my mind. I do not want to waive 5th rounder, I feel thats high with players on the bench.    ?? There's waiver claims too, they have done that each year.
