Would you rather (Ginn/DJax edition)

With Ginn you get durability, with Jax you get reliability.

Ginn might drop things but he'll show up every game day

Jax will catch most things but he might miss a few games here an there due to injury.

Ginn to me is a discount Jackson and I like Ginn, but I won't be heartbroken if we get Jackson even though I doubt it and think he goes back to Philly.

I like DJax but I don't want to overpay for that dude. He's no spring chicken either. In two years we'd probably be cutting him.

An aging Ted Ginn is still faster than everyone else.

Would like us to draft a slot WR and fix the o line so the WR we currently have can do work.

lol at either at that number.

Ginn better stay for around 2.5-3.5 Mil a year for 3 years. He's 31, and not worth more than that much money as a WR. His Special Teams game has been sub-par as of late, and his drops seem to come at bad times.

Anybody paying DJax 9 Mil a year deserves the cap hell they'll probably be in. That's more than Antonio Brown currently makes. DJax is 30, and only worth possibly 7.5 mil a year, probably less.

Byrd can be groomed to be our next Ginn, and imo his ceiling is higher than Ginn because Ginn is so scared of contact.  From what small sample size I've seen, no pun intended, Byrd is willing to go up and get it.  My answer is Djax.

Making 9 mil now, but okay

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
