Reuben Foster

Lol. I already watched some stuff on Foster. He doesn't seem like an upgrade over Shaq, TD, or Kuechly.

Here's a decent video comparing Kuechly and Foster; albeit the rambling:

You know what's his issue? Hesitancy. He waits to see what's going on in front of him, rather than trust his instincts. Luke Kuechly goes straight for the ball and trusts his instincts on the fly. Foster doesn't.

In fact, I do agree with the comment section when they have Zach Cunningham ahead of Foster. I truly believe Zach is the better LB in the draft.

Foster just is far too hesitant for my taste like the guy in the video. He doesn't trust his instincts as well and lets his front dominate rather than do stuff.

This thread would have made more sense if the Argument for drafting foster was because we don't know what we are going to have with Luke moving forward. Not about replacing shaq.

Foster has numerous concussion issues as well, and hasn't even took a snap as professional player yet.

I question Shaq's limited usage.  His value should be in the fact we can leave him on the field during nickel situations, but that often doesn't happen.  Considering our struggle with cornerback play this year, Shaq should have seen more snaps.  Ultimately out of the snaps I've seen him play, I'm not confident he can be a star linebacker.  Maybe we won't need him to be a star linebacker such as TD, but if that is what we're expecting him to be or to have a significant level of impact on a game, I'm not seeing it

Staying on the field during nickel downs is quite possibly if not unequivocally the reason he was drafted.

Hes a hybrid that can play LB full time.  He just happens to be behind the GOAT and GOAT jr.  It's not Shaqs fault we have a wealth of talent but it's great for his developement.

Think Favre/Rogers, Montana/Young.

Foster is a great player but we have too many other needs to spend the 8th pick in the draft on a LB

This is exactly what everyone said the last two drafts and guess what happened? LB and DT.

All you guys saying Fournette are going to be massively dissapointed when DG picks up a CB in round 1 and 2 and double dips at DT in the 3rd just to piss you off

If anything, drafting In the top 10 will just encourage Gettleman even more to stick to his BPA.

I just wish him and the organization would do on offense stacked draft for once. Have a fuging star mvp caliber QB and you do almost nothing to help him put besides drafting a couple big slow ass recievers .

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
