Seem like you are backing out now.. You said i can set terms and like i said "which ever teams gives him a chance"..

My only term was he had to atleast start in 12 games.. If he sucks that shouldn't really matter..

I just made the terms "something that gives me a chance" right??

LOL!

If you're so confident about your woman beater, you shouldn't need a qualifier.

I'll take your bet but I know you'll never pay and I'm sure even if the guy starts every game, you'll somehow reinvent a new definition of "starting".

But hey, as long as we're adding qualifiers here, I'm adding one. If this dumbass does something to get himself suspended, you still owe.

I want a team that makes me proud to represent them. I want to be able to cheer without being conflicted. If he's able to make a living playing football, that's fine by me. I don't begrudge someone the chances they get, but I don't want it to be my team that's doing it. Let some other team sell their soul like the Bengals, Raiders, and Cowboys. Integrity is an important part of our room and I don't want someone inside it that doesn't have it.

If he couldn't play football, about 90% of this board would say they'd kill him if he did that to someone they cared about. Instead, we're hoping he joins our team because he can run fast. To get the honor to stand beside Cam Newton, Greg Olson, Thomas Davis, and Luke Kuechly and say he's a Panther just like they are. Hard pass.

This has already been discussed 10 times on this board. I hope he's not off our board. Actions have consequences, even when you are a 120lb blonde with a vagina. If a dude, or their mom, sister, wife, daughter puts hands on me, I'm coming back with no reservations

Yeah, and you'll be in jail with no reservations also except a candlelight ham sandwich with Bubba. Because those that are more powerful physically are not expected to use excessive force in SELF DEFENSE. If you can look at this video and tell me Joe Mixon was in any kind of danger I will laugh in your face. Self defense is only applicable in the instance where the threat you have encountered requires you to take action to avoid being harmed. And even then, the amount of force you use needs to be proportional to the threat you face. You can't beat someone to death because they pushed you and expect that to be cool. He very well could have killed that woman if her head landed on that table just a little differently. But then again, we wouldn't even be having this discussion because everyone would be on their high horse because the result that occurred and not the action itself. Would you still support him had that woman died or had brain damage? Real question. Take your time.

Anyone with a troubled past? No. We drafted Worley last year when he'd been arrested for assault and battery.

But, there's a big difference between "troubled past" and knocking out a woman on video. Ray Rice was an elite NFL RB and got essentially blackballed from the league for doing that.

He wasn't.  He was averaging 3.0 YPC.  Wasn't elite when we got released.  He was 30 and past his prime.

Big difference between punching a grown ass man and a woman.

The fact of of the matter is if someone had not been recording the incident and it hadn't leaked, it'd be a non-issue. He'd probably be heading back to OU next year to be the feature back after Perine's departure and he'd be a likely 1st round pick come this time next year.

But... someone was recording that incident and that footage eventually came to light and here we are.

It was recorded from the place he was at. No one recorded the incident.  You also seem to forget she spit on him, called him a racial slur, and put hands on him more than once.  She essentially, assaulted him.  Should he have used full force as a 6'1, 230 pound man?  Probably not.  But as a smaller man, I'm not sure if I wouldn't of at least mushed the poo out of her.

And I'm not the moral police that thinks there's no incident where any man should hit a woman.  If it's a 5'10 150 pound man vs a 5'7 180 pound woman.  And that dude is getting his ass kicked?  Come on. It's 2017, and women want equal rights?  They better take the consequences then.

Really??

Not much of a difference imo of hitting a woman or stealing a guy that doesn't know it's coming. (One being on his knees)

Love Smitty still .. and i don't know what happen to the young lady Mixon hit..

But i do know Bright doesn't have the use of 1 of his EYES.. And lost a chance of a career because of it.. So please let's not try the lesson the acts to protect Jerry's moral decision..

First of all the incident with Bright was over a decade ago. Who knows what JR has learned since then. If he chooses to be more careful now in who he drafts it might mean he has learned from his mistakes and doesn't want to repeat them.

Plus Smitty didn't hit a woman in college and give clear signs of issues of a problem.

And yeah there is a big difference between hitting a woman and another football player during a disagreement.

I just don't think the Panthers want the baggage.  I know many of y'all are tough guys who won't take lip from a woman, but the rest of the civilized country thinks that football players have an added layer of responsibility for their free educations in college and possibly lucrative careers in the NFL.  Don't hit other people.  I know for some of y'all, that's totally backwards in your weird landscape of equality.

I'm a pretty big guy, my wife lost a bunch of weight and strength when she got really sick.  If I make my wife so angry she physically strikes me, do I have a right to hit her back?  I wasn't raised that way.  Also, if she were to strike me, and cause me even a minor injury, it would be very simple to press charges, again, if we're talking about equality.

Mixon is a very talented football player who made a stupid decision which only a small portion of the country agrees with.  I don't know him as a person, how he has dealt with the entire circus, so that's up to the team.  He's got to know that whoever picks him, fans are going to give him a hard time.  Every fumble, stupid penalty, one yard loss, someone in the crowd (or many) will let him know about his past.  Maybe that helps or hurts, but it's up to the team to make that decision.

Were I thinking about picking him, I'd have to have a good long conversation about that, and about how he will use his celebrity to do something good in the world.  Basically give him the JR to Cam speech.

He should be on the board, but due to his actions he will be drafted mid to late in the draft.  Someone will draft him and someone will be getting a heck of a football player.  I personally believe that you can be forgiven and given another chance from your mistakes.  Big mistake from a young man and if he shows the signs of change and correction of behavior.. Why not have him on your board.  dude has faced enough limelight and criticism being snubbed from the combine etc.  This doesn't mean I condone what he did. what he did was horrific and I was raised to never raise your hand to a woman.  But I do believe in second chances.  But it wont be with the Panthers.
