Remember when we were glad Roman Harper left because he "was a weak link?"

I can tell you leadership and veteran presence goes a long way.

And Cotchery.  I never expected to miss either Harper or Cotchery very much.  But 2016 I think proved me wrong on that.  I think both of those guys WERE missed.

By not tendering them, they technically did "let them go". My guess would be Bersin's agent came back with a minimal offer and they took him up on it.

And they still have those same choices in free agency and the draft. Signing Bersin doesn't negate any of those things.

Sure I understand that just thought he would be gone but if he took a dirt cheap contract it would make sense to keep him. Just hoping we improve the team on offense some this off-season.

If Buffalo was the other team I'd take a poo ton less money to stay here for sure.

Watkins can't even reach his potential there but the #s he has in that situation is nothing short of a miracle.

Speaking of....damn it'd be nice to have Sammy here dood is still only 23.

Gotta remember, Buffalo has a familiar coach, which is likely where the interest comes from.

Wouldn't be a big surprise if a former Panther or two ends up there this offseason.

Not really a great deal. Hope we are not just going to resign all the players from a 6-10 team and roll with it. Had money to upgrade and still do. Let the process play out.

If you don't think this is a good deal then you don't understand football.  CHEMISTRY is incredibly important, along with continuity.  On top of all of that, CJ has good character and is also working on recruiting other FAs to us.

We still can.

Yea for sure and it makes sense for coach to have himself some familiarity too.

I'd want a guy or two on my side that I could glean info about the locker room from in a new situation as well....it's a smart move to make.

Jesus some of you fuggin people, are y'all really bitching we paid him 5 mil a year. Cj is a role player at this point and is getting paid role player money. Team friendly deal, for a captain, great teammate, who does a lot for the team/community and still has some juice left.

I think that's a steal

I can't speak for everyone else but I bitch about everything.

IF my wife makes dinner and the gravy touches the green beans I throw that poo on the ground.

Hate to see what happens when the green bean juice touches the cornbread...

    • So... what metrics for production do you believe display these issues/limitations best? Are we only using total passing yards, height, and weight thresholds? If so, then what are those thresholds?
    • I mean as far as his size goes it's all over his tape bouncing up and down on his toes in and around the pocket trying to see the field and defenses know this as well as we do but if folks here want to live in never never land and pretend it's not a thing that's their prerogative. Even our head coach has made it a key focal point to get his footwork under control. But it's still something Bryce is going to be tested on early and often no matter how many keystrokes anyone here commits to the narrative it isn't an issue.
    • It speaks volumes that when asked to define a clear performance threshold the responses instead fixate on Bryce's size. It reinforces what’s been clear for a while now... that for some, it has never been nor will it ever be about production. Any struggles will always be chalked up to his frame, and any strong play will be downplayed or disqualified via highly mobile goalposts.
