Report: Panthers 100% Sold On Fournette - Will Be Pick If Available

Fournette has been bred as the best runningback since Adrian Peterson far often this draft season. His unbelievable power and finesse in his run game makes him one of the best downhill runners the game has seen in a while. Even though he's questionable with his ability from the shotgun, he still could impact any team he goes on in a positive way, and even I believe the Panthers would know what they're doing if they pick such a runningback.

Well, our very own Igo revealed some nice information on twitter today. Apparently, the Panthers are sold on Fournette. Will be the pick if he's available.

For those of you who assume this is mere speculation by Igo:

Take this what you will.

Ok , so if we go with Fournette how would you like this scenario , its still high probability that DG double dips?

1.RB| Leonard Fournette

2 RB-WR | Christian McCaffrey (you bascially draft a  #2WR along with great HB)

3 TE | Jordan Leggett

4 DE | Trey  Hendrickson

5. S | Josh Harvey-Clemons

6. WR | Ryan Switzer

You can take the best RB ever and it wouldn't win you any Championships if you don't have your passing game in order. A good running game is best if you already have that part of your offense in order. We don't. Our WR group still needs work. And so does all of our TEs after Olsen. You can win championships with a good passing game and average running game. Focus on our passing first before you decide to draft a luxury RB in the 1st round in an era where RBs are a dime a dozen.

you can argue Bo's 4.12 forty. however, deion sanders (one of the fastest nfl corners) praises Bo's speed and athletix ability. it wasnt just his straight line speed. the guy walked off the baseball field and started over marcus allen ( a top ten rb of all time).

and that aint no myth, brother

Bo didn't run sub 4.2. Urban legend. Faster than Fournette, yes, as fast as Usain Bolt, no. Read this article: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2519690-nfl-urban-legends-bo-jackson-and-the-too-fast-to-be-true-40-yard-dash

I understand.  Thus my use of the term "allegedly" (maybe you didn't see that).

Bo was easily between a 4.2 and 4.3 though.  He lettered in track at Auburn for 2 years, running the 60-yard dash.  His time in the 60?  6.18.

Are you out of your mind? Fournette's style of running could not be further from Bell's.

Verdict:  True

Mainly because Bell has proven, in college and the NFL, that he can do multiple things well as a running back to contribute to the team.

Fournette is EXTREMELY good at one thing.  The addition of Fournette to a Carolina offense coordinated by Mike Shula would devolve our offense to be even more one-dimensional than we already are if that was possible.

Totally disagree.  A good Run game can set up everything else..

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
