I think he could be a very good player and dangerous in the right scheme (probably not ours at least until we shake off the Shula shackles) but I don't think I've ever seen a college RB benefit more from an OL that opens holes you could drive a Mack truck through.  I've watched tons of breakdowns on all the major RBs this year and McCaffrey all game long has massive holes. Sometimes they're on the backside where he has to use his vision and cut back becaus defenses have to over commit to compensate for not being able to plug primary holes and that's a plus for McCaffrey, having the vision and agility to make those cut backs. But by and large he just has to scamper around in the secondary for most of his yards. Fournette never got anywhere near those running lanes.

You're really discrediting CMC a lot when you say he has massive holes to run through...

He creates a lot of those holes for himself with his ridiculous ability to cutback and his vision.

Not sure if you are pulling for LF at the 8 spot...but I see CmC being a better fit with this offense than LF.

People keep saying Fournette "fits our scheme" but really the only thing that he fits is running behind a fullback with the QB under center.

What was Cam's under center % last season?

I just don't get the love affair everyone has with this kid.   Every highlight video I watch on him I'm left feeling like he looks more like a 2nd round prospect to me.

I don't know about 2nd round, but as a top 10 talent? Hell no, really shouldn't pick him up at 8

I think the "fits our scheme better" just means is less reliant on a great OL and OC. He has more individual ability to make plays than anyone else and won't be held back by bad blocking or play calling.  If McCaffrey gets hit behind the line he won't create yards out of nothing like Stewart does and like Fournette is expected to be able to. That's my main reason for being on the Fournette train.

I think that is the exact opposite of what Fournette is "great" at.

Carolina's sheer ineptitude in the screen game never ceases to amaze me. I don't know if it has to do with the way teams rush Cam or what but the offense just cannot run a screen, with the exception being the occasional oddball screen to Olsen.

The screen pass could be such a weapon for this team. Imagine the fear in the eyes of a CB or S when JStew or fournette grabs a screen and starts coming at them. Truck city.

I'm not a big fan of RB's at the top of the 1st anyway, but he's absolutely worth a 1st rounder.

His production was very impressive, he's stayed healthy despite being a bit undersized, and the he tested through the roof.  My reason for pulling for him (if Adams is gone), is I think that he can immediately help this offense.  I'm typically a long game thinker, but we need to make a few stabs at another deep playoff run now.

Stew, TD, Kalil, etc...ain't getting younger, and Cam and Luke have both been banged up more than any other time in their careers.

I like Howard for the offense, but it typically takes years for TE's to grow into bonafide NFL players, and we have a top 2 TE in the league now....under contract long term.

When I consider CmC, I think back to the SB and wonder what could have been different had we had a player like him on the field.  And no, I don't think that LF would have made a difference in that game.

They both fit our scheme. Some will think I'm crazy but I think Fournette would be used the same way as Stewart is used and here's the crazy one.McCaffrey would be used like Tolbert was used in in our offense.

Remember we rarely used Tolbert as blocker and more in the same way Stanford used McCaffrey.

Stew is/was able to do much more than LF.  But yes, LF would help keep the panthers in the 80's as far as the type offense we would want to run.

CmC would be used exactly how Marshall Faulk was used back in the day...and whadda you know...almost the exact same size.
