Jets lose WR Devin Smith to torn ACL (trade scenario)

So I just read that the Jets lost their WR to a torn ACL.  We just drafted 2 dynamic WR/RB in McCaffrey and Samuel.  We can spare to lose a WR.  Do you think we make a player=player type trade with the Jets for S Calvin Pryor?  Thoughts?

Calvin Pryor is so bad that the Jets, who have a bottom five roster in the NFL, do not want him.

Why does anyone want this dude?

The Falcons had a guy that the Browns didn't want making big plays in the Super Bowl.  Risk/reward/need make Pryor very attractive for us.

The NFL is all about risk/reward. The Pats capitalize on it every chance they get. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't. But you gotta try first, and it's being said that Pryor can be had for "anything". They is as low of a risk as you can get, but the reward outweighs the risk. Wish we'd take a chance.

Sometimes players just need a change of scenery. It could also be a culture thing too why he didn't work out. This year the Jets drafted a bunch of locker room changing guys to fix the culture, while Carolina has plenty of those guys to help bring the best out of others and make them look better. If he's cheap and motivated, it can't hurt. I think he'd be a healthy add to the back end for us. He's a vicious hitting enforcer who can fill the alley, something the Panthers don't currently have at the position.

We brought in a vet safety in FA.  Not a high priority for us at this point.  But keep banging the drum, and, the TE drum

last year we had to sign an old guy off his couch. something we've had to do several years in a row. why not sign a young guy now who can actually see the field occasionally than wait til week 6 and be desperate when our near 40 year old start can't go?

Happened a couple weeks ago and the Jets knew and it's why they drafted a few WRs. Also Pryor sucks.

As for Richardson, where would he play? He only fits as a 3T where KK and Butler are. He's also in the last year of his contract and would require big money to re-sign in addition to his $8M cap hit this year.

No point trading with the Jets for anyone. Their whole roster blows except 4-5 guys that are untouchable.

Pryor sucks?  No one wanted Mike Adams at this point.  No one else anyway.  Beggars can't be choosers l.

    • We won 5 with the worst defense in the history of defenses.  I think free agency and our draft puts us over 6.5.
    • Leaning towards just ordering this tonight, but now I have no idea on size. Has anyone bought a bunch of jerseys in the last few years and can convey how the Game vs Limited vs Reebok versions all fit? These are both Mediums... The white one here is a Reebok one from 2010, and was when they had the "+2 length" on the tag and it was the version with the stitched numbers instead of iron on... the blue one is from 2022 and is the F.U.S.E Limited version also with stitched stuff, not the "game jersey" with the ironed on numbers/letters that they have the T-Mac jerseys in. The old one fits me fine, the blue one was always a tad snug on me, particularly in the shoulders I'm leaning going with a Large based on the CMC, but for all I know, that is made with a tighter cut due to the higher "limited" level and the "game" ones they have for T-Mac are cut more like a T-Shirt and thus will fit more like the old white one I have here, not sure. (and yes, I already tried going to a sporting goods store here to hopefully try on a Lions jersey to see, but they don't have any right now)
    • I think there's a ton of potential in that WR room. But they really are unproven right now. Hopefully they live up to the hype.
