Would you trade KB for a first next year?

The people wanting to trade KB are f*cking retarded.

"Lets trade KB and Fred Ross is going to be a STUD!"

I made this thread to get discussion going about what people think he is worth. I don't think I'd trade him for a first but a first and 3rd may do it for me. I wouldn't be actively shopping him but as with every single player in the league, I'd listen to offers. Surely there's an amount of compensation you'd take for KB. What would it be for you?

Long game or Short game?

1st:  There is no chance a team is willing to part with an 18 1st for KB.

2nd:  Are we building for the next  5-7 or going "all in" over the next 3?

If we are going all in, no you can't trade him.  If we are playing the long game expecting Cam to play for another 8-10 years at a high level....yes, you trade him for a 1.

Remember, he gets much more expensive after this year. I feel if you're going all in this year obviously you don't trade him unless you get a player or players who will have a bigger impact than him. But after this year, could a first rounder have a bigger impact for the team when also factoring in how much cap space would be taken up? I don't know. It would be stupid not to pick up his 5th year option at least but if we have such little confidence in him that we don't do that then I can't imagine we wouldn't trade him for a first if offered.

I feel like the most we'd see offered for him is a 3rd, which -- given how he shows up to mini-camp and other offseason activities, I would be willing to take

It frustrates me to no end, I felt like he was at best a late 2nd round guy coming into the draft, because of his inconsistency and drops. His potential showed itself in his rookie year and he just hasn't seemed to be able to get it back since. I don't know if he took it personal seeing the offense click so well without him or what, but, good lord we need some of that rookie year talent back on the field, especially with the number of weapons we have now.

You people drastically underestimate he value and talent of KB. Even captain said he was the only WR they were concerned with. He's a matchup nightmare and he's not the first talented young player to struggle with weight discipline. Trading him would be stupid. You guys act like he hasn't been productive he's been putting up numbers even the so called down year of last season.

thank you. dude effectively put up two thousand yard seasons in his first two playing years, both of which were incidentally down years on the offense.

he needs to get his poo together but dumping him would be tremendously shortsighted and detrimental to this offense

Me personally, it would take us getting a legit WR1 in return.

Im a huge believer in KB and despite what many on here think he has proven he can be a legit #1 (yes the numbers back it up).

This franchise historically struggles to identify talent at the WR position and I'd be furious if we just went ahead and let a talent like KB go.

Forget the numbers for a second. Can you truly say that KB has shown the consistency of a legitimate #1? He's shown the talent and ability it from my eyes he hasn't put it together yet. He hurts the team as much as he helps it at times, with penalties, drops, lack of effort after an interception, etc. I do think he could be a true top tier receiver like a Dez Bryant, but he still has a ways to go and it's a question as to whether he can put it together. I don't want to give up on him, but if it becomes uncertain as to whether he'll put it together before getting paid top dollar, I think it's a legitimate discussion about a trade for draft picks. If he continues to show inconsistency and will be costing #1 wideout money, would we not be better off with an extra first and third and not be allocating that salary cap to him? I don't know but I don't think it's an outrageous thought. I just hope he puts it together this year and dominates. Would be pissed if we don't pick up his 5th year option.

I like KB....as a clutch, red zone situational WR2. As a WR1 ehhh not so much, he has the potential but he teeters to much in between and 1 and 2 receiver.

Maybe he can break out to fill that role but I wouldn't give him that title or pay yet.

Nevertheless, he isn't useless and is a damn good receiver, I'd rather keep him than get a 3rd round pick for him which is the highest any team would offer for him.
