Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

So I've been wanted to play this for the last couple of years but have been slacking in the video game department mostly due to work and having a social life again. But this past weekend I didn't really feel like going out so I picked up the Witcher 3: Complete Edition for $50 on PS4. Normally I would get it on my PC or wait for the Steam summer sale but I'm but I'm getting sick of sitting in front a computer screen gaming for hours in my old age. So getting it on PS4 offered the comfort and convenience I was after. Anyway lol, I finally had a weekend off from any side projects and put about 12 hours into this game. I'm mad at myself for not getting it sooner. I played both 1 & 2 and this one is significant step up. It's helping quench my thirst for Elder Scrolls 6 (which I assure you I will get on PC). The freedom and choices make this game an RPG wet dream. I look forward to the upcoming long holiday weekend to log some more hours. Anyone else play it?

I played a lot of it but didn't finish and didn't play DLC.   I want to start back but I know I'll forget where I was so a new playthrough would happen.  Not sure I want to do that lol.   It was fantastic though.   Lots of hours on it.   Side quests are so fleshed out too.

They are making a Netflix show about the books, that'll be awesome hopefully.

Destiny really fuged me in terms of me playing other games. I have a week off this summer and maybe I will be able to dive back in, but I'd really like to finish Breath of the Wild too.

Witcher is so much fun, but iirc I'm kind of at a point where all my quests are a much higher level than me (like 30s and I'm a 15 or something). I probably need to back track and pick up a bunch of side quests that are manageable to boost my level some.

I like the Witcher's lore better than Skyrim, but I still think Skyrim is a more appealing game to me just because you can casually pick it up and start dominating. Witcher is more rewarding but takes more time.

I explored the entire opening continent to get my level up. It is incredibly easy to get yourself destroyed in that game though.. It's unforgiving like dark souls

Blood and wine is possibly the best expansion I've ever played.

One of my favorite games of all time. Poured a TON of hours into it, finished the main story line, and didn't come close to playing all the side quests.

Also, may or may not have gotten addicted to playing Gwent (?) the card game anytime I played.  Such a great game with a ton to do and keep you interested.

Excellent but overwhelming game. I sunk a bunch of hours into it, stopped and am now intimidated to start again. I've never seen a game so big. Controls are a little wonky too but I liked it a lot.

Witcher 3 is life right now.

Pretty much every moment I have to game has been put into Witcher 3 =)

(I've even been skipping my Destiny weeklies!!!  Shame!)

What a wonderful game!  I am still getting used to the controls, but I'm just loving running around and learning the systems.  Still need to work on finding the right ingredients and cash.  Cash is the hard part =)

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
