A little something for the huddlers before the game. Big time praise from a future Hall of Famer. Christian says all the right things... but this dude is oozing with confidence. Excited to see everything come together for him this year.

that's the first time i've ever seen smitty "nervous"

conducting interviews is a whole different animal compared to being an analyst, but i'm sure he'll settle in nicely soon.

probably really trying to suppress the urge to punch somebody while the cameras are watching

Yeah he is slipping up a number of times.. but he was never the greatest speaker anyway. Neither was Ladanian Tomlinson and you could see some simular slip ups/nervousness . Its just inexperience of being a tv personality. Smitty's only been doing it for a few months I believe.

I've watched several of Smitty's interviews across different TCs so far, and this by far seems to be the most nervous and unsure he has seemed.  I think it may have something to do with being in Carolina, tbh.  Bc although he does seem to be anxious, he also seems to be unusually happy and easygoing in this interview...  maybe he visited with some other familiar faces off-camera and had a lot on his mind?  Either way, good interview and I am sitting here with a raging boner in anticipation of CMC's debut tonight.

I wouldn't say nervousness, just inexperience.  I thought he did a good job.  As for Cmac, he's a natural.

edit: actually he was quite fidgety.   But he made some astute observations though and helped create a pretty fun segment.

Nobody has posted it but he seemed not so nervous with Hurney.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
