Navarro Bowman should be drug tested

Apparently Navarro Bowman is quite obsessed with one Luke Kuechly, according to this article from Saturday before the game.

"Bowman, who twice brought up Kuechly without prompting during the interview, knows the perceived gulf between them has widened since their 2014 meeting in Charlotte."

“Our numbers - they’re not too far apart,” Bowman said. “But he’s still where he is. And I’m still scratching and clawing, trying to keep my head above water. Why is that?”

Bowman has a theory. He notes he was a third-round pick in 2010, while Kuechly was selected No. 9 overall in 2012.

“He got drafted in what round?” Bowman said. “So it makes (NFL evaluators) seem like they’re right. I got drafted in the third round, so any negative energy I bring toward my name, it makes them seem like they’re right.

Jealousy and insecurity isn't a good look, Bow.

“You watch this whole game of NaVorro Bowman,” he said. “And you watch this whole game of Luke Kuechly. You tell me who the best linebacker is.”

Ahem, Luke was credited 5 tackles, 2 assists and 1 interception on a defense that absolutely shut down the 49er offense

Bowman had 3 tackles and 2 assists in a 23-3 loss.

This quote about the 2014 playoff game is something else:

“It was Luke Kuechly this; it was Luke Kuechly that,” Bowman said during a recent hour-long interview. “We went out there and we beat the brakes off them. Nobody said anything. But I guarantee you, if Luke Kuechly would have done something they would have blown it up.”

    • As long as Morgan is the GM, Young will be the QB. Young is 100% Morgan's guy. The contract extension is pretty much guaranteed unless Young suffers a career ending injury this season.
    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
