FWIW, I pointed it out yesterday during the game when everyone was trying to blame Cam for that first pick, that it was Funchess' fault.  For some reason, he still has a fan club around here.  He is what he is.  It was clear he rounded out the route and allowed the corner to beat him to the ball as a result.  He would be a great #4 guy if he learns how to tackle on ST, otherwise, we need to move on from him.

Sorry, that pic was made before the ball ever left Cam's hand. Funchess was never open. The DB broke on the ball as Cam was winding up.

One pump fake and it would have been a Funchess touch down.

In other words, Samuel and Shepard haven’t filled Ginn’s vital role in the offense yet.

Except when they are wide slap open and Cam ignores them.

What the hell? That was on Cam all the way. Blaming Funchess is the lazy way out.

LOL "not expecting the pass" as a WR you run EVERY route like you're getting the ball.

You seriously can't make this up, this fan base is so clueless.

What you can't make up is the lengths that people will go through to try and not call Cam out for his responsibility.

Told y'all it's not Shula it's just our players not all clicking at once if we click together we are the best offense in the nfl simple as that

Seriously??? We are running the same plays from 15 and he is using the wrong personal and it's "the players not clicking"? Fact Cam is slumping and can't bail him out from his own self. Dorsey should be telling Cam he is fuging up and Shula should be using Samuel not Funchess. Cam def has a bunch of blame too but come on give him the right personnel. This truly reminds me of Matt Ryan when everyone was saying he was done. Give the man a line and a awesome OC and boom new QB.

Cam fault for believing in funchess..funchess fault for not selling route if it is a play where he chooses to pass or handoff shouldn't the wr be selling their route and just maybe expecting the ball..50/50

Where is Bryd why isnt he in to stretch the field he has been here what 3yrs ..if he has not learned the offense he shoukdnt be on the squad

Two points I agree on: Newton made a bad decision on the throw, and made that mistake even worse by telegraphing who he was throwing to.

With that said...

When a defensive back jumps a route that quickly, the majority of the time it's because he saw it coming. And that goes back to our offense being predictable.

There's a lot wrong here. It's not as simple as one thing.

Pretty much, in a perfect world Cam recognizes the CB coming up and just sails that ball 5 feet high, out of bounds and cuts his losses.

The Saints (like us) had obviously seen that play many times before and recognized it immediately. The play never had a chance from the start.

With all that said, it was still a lazy route and you run your route like you're getting the ball 100% of the time.
