So the Kaaya thing

It seemed sorta left field at the time, but now?  Will coaches try these cast off guys and try to develop them quickly or will we hear an unexpected name at the 2018 draft?  It is becoming evident that Cam will not sign a 3rd contract, so when this one is up, will we have a valid replacement in house?

My favorite would be Rudoph

 

You just never know how the season will play out, but to continue on the knee jerk bandwagon we have going here, just thought I'd drop a few guys in for discussion.  Hopefully, in a few weeks, the Panthers and Cam are back up to speed, but in the light of the current struggles, thought we might speculate a bit.

I do an NFL Draft podcast and we just yesterday did an ep on all the QB prospects for 2018. I don't know the rules about linking stuff here, so I'll be safe and not do it. I was under the impression that Kaaya would be Cam's new backup, beginning next season. Haven't seen anything from DA on the field to make me think that he'll be sticking around past 2017.

Makes you wonder what they have him doing in practice.  Is he working on mechanics with eye for the future or just going through the motions.

I wouldn't assume anything at this point.  Hell it wouldn't surprise me if they don't try to trade the kid for a kicker when Gano shits the bed in an important game this season.

I thought we had a pretty decent backup in the preseason.  Maybe not 1st team quality but a total improvement for the 2nd team.

Maybe Kaaya is even better?  Fug it... there's only one way to find out.  I seriously don't want to see DA on the field anymore.  None.

I'm not ready to give up on Cam but having a quality QB to develop is not a bad problem to have, just ask the Packers (Brett/Aaron) or Pats with Jimmy G.

I believe Kaaya was brought in to be the number 2 guy next year. I also agree that Cam will not sign a 3rd contract whether that means he's done or playing elsewhere
