Cam's throws today

What I saw today did not look like a QB coming off shoulder surgery.  Not sure if he just needed a few weeks to get his groove on, or maybe he's just finally had enough time to really heal, but that was a damned clinic today.  Accuracy better than I've seen from Cam in a loooong time.  He still throws the dump-off balls harder than he needs when his guys are wide open for easy 5-10 yard completions, but he did seem to be slinging the ball really well.  The Oline did a good job giving him time to throw, so kudos to them.  His confidence was definitely back, and that's the fuel for his engine.

Let's enjoy this win - and may it be the springboard momentum we need to string some W's together!  Go Panthers!

Well, there were a lot of people who said it was going to take a few weeks for his shoulder to get back 100%. So, really we should've expected trash Cam earlier, and as the season progresses the better he gets. I didn't watch the game, but looking at his box score, he had a great game. I'd expect a few more great games from him as the shoulder continues to get better

On the int. If Byrd did not hesitate and kept running his route I don't think it would have been picked. I don't think he could have caught it in double coverage but would have had the chance himself to break up the int. Regardless, that was a bad ball thrown by Cam. Thank goodness that was the only one. Cam looked sharp today.

Funchess made a great play on a ball late in the 4th. basically acted as a DB and saved it from being picked. those two were the only shitters today.

Funchess actually saved the game for us. That break up and that pivot 4 yard pass thst he caught while he was injured

Cam was clearly more accurate and also seemed to have better zip on the ball than he's had so far this season. But the pass protection - or the lack of a Pats pass rush, whichever you want to credit more - definitely helped.

It's amazing the difference between Cam with and without solid pass protection. You give him time to throw and he's a legit MVP caliber QB, even with Shula's shortcomings as an O.C. and even with mediocre receivers, as we saw in 2015.

In that sense he's no Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady as far as operating under pressure, but more of a Peyton Manning, who was money when given protection, but almost looked like a different player when consistently pressured.

I swear, if this organization can just find a steady tackle tandem we'd be set. Today aside, I just don't think Matt Kalil and Daryl Williams is it.

    • I'm more impressed with the UDFA that the guys they have drafted in the first the last 2 years. A whole lot of prove it is still needed before any improvement should be talked about seriously.
    • Sure.    ignore that he said this roster wasn’t good in 2023 to 2024 but keep up the effort
    • While I don't believe its a must win, (we have been better on the road this post season) it is definitely A NEED TO WIN the longer this series goes the more pronounced the Canes advantage on rest and health will be! If we hold serve at home in games 1 and 2 guaranteeing a 6 game minimum series for them if we lose the road games..... by the game 4 and 5 I expect them to be beat they have played A LOT OF HOCKEY the last three years, they have MINIMAL rest off a more physical than one might have expected series vs the leafs.... you know Tampa took their pound of flesh in round 1 from them. Combine all that with the fact that even though this year's canes squad isn't as talented as last years this IS a better squad than the one they swept last time that had McKenzie Mckeathern on line 1 Turbo with a broken hand a banged uo and eventually concussed Slavin (and even though it was a sweep 6 OTS and 4 1 goal losses is hardly dominant)  This year Bob hasn't been superman (hes probably gonna still have a great save percentage agiast us just a side effect of our style) Thatchuk is maybe 50% (3 game winners agiast us) their defense no longer has Gudas and several other downgrades.  While the Canes have a healthy and performing Svechnikov along with other big guys to counteract florida like Carrier, Jankowski, Robinson.   I by know means think it will happen but I either see this as a low scoring dog fight or a series were the canes surprise and end up dominating.
