He might be one of the better defensive coordinators in the game, but he doesn't have the skill set to be a good head coach.

I hate it because he seems like an incredibly nice guy with a fine family. If there were a way to keep him as a DC, I'd be all for it, but that kind of thing really just doesn't happen.

Nope.  And im not saying this because it's our team, but in fact, he actually may be one of the worst.  He's mismanaged situations in games that i've never seen anywhere else in my 33 years on this Earth.

No. I don't think he ever has been. I think he was buoyed by Cam's incredible 2015 run. If you gave him a job without a Cam Newton at QB he's a 2-14 coach. I've never been confident during his tenure that he'll simply out coach the opposing team on any given Sunday unless he's playing against Chuck Pagano.

His biggest problem is his loyalty to $hitty personnel on his staff
